Mariana's POV

I was stood outside the 'bakery', the two men on the door glaring at me as I stood smoking and trying to calm down.

It was around half and hour later that Tommy strolled out, a slight smirk on his stupid face, indicating it went smoothly after I left
I threw my fag to the floor and began walking, Tommy coming up beside me as we made our way down the street back to my house.

"So?" I asked
"So what?" He asked, I rolled my eyes
"So what happened after I left you moron" I said, he chuckled and got a cigarette out for himself.

"Well he's agreed... that's enough for now" Tommy explained, I nodded
"He seemed quite taken with you" Tommy commented
"Yeah he was so charming wasn't he? I'll be sure to tell my grandchildren our first meeting ended so romantically, calling me a schizophrenic sociopath" I retorted sarcastically.

"Trust me Mar, he likes you" Tommy said
I knew in his head it wasn't in a teasing way, it only meant that he could use me as advantage with Alfie
"I'm not to be a pawn in your game Thomas" I told him sternly, rounding the corner into another street.

"Of course not" he mumbled, seemingly uninterested in my opinion
"So are we not talking about how you broke in there?" Tommy asked
I shook my head, shutting him down
I was already angry with myself for getting wound up.

"So, when you heading back?" I asked, trying to change the subject
"As soon as we get back to the house, I've got stuff to do" he said
"Mmm... stuff" I commented.

He sighed and stopped walking
"Why didn't you tell me Polly was worrying about her kids?" He asked, grabbing my arm to pull me to a stop as well
"Because it wasn't my business to tell you" I stated matter of factly, pulling my arm away from him gently and continuing to walk.

It was silent for a few minutes as we walked, both of us in our own thoughts
"I'm going to meet her son. His names Henry now, living in the country" he explained
I was surprised but I didn't care to show it.

Tommy was always doing this, surprising people with things so casually
"Have you told Pol?" I asked, he shook his head.

Well we all knew that was going to bite him in the ass eventually
I nodded back at him, ultimately leaving the conversation as it was.

When we got back to the house I shrugged my coat off and fell onto the sofa, kicking my shoes off with a sigh of relief
Pain is beauty, but these shoes were fucking lethal.
