SMUT WARNING!! 😛

Mariana's POV

"I'll be back by 12" Alfie mumbled, kissing me on the cheek as he shrugged his coat on
I hummed in disappointment as I leaned against the counter, sipping my coffee

"11" I said, only to receive laughter from the man
"11.30" he compromised, I pretended to think it over before nodding with an impassive look, but he stared at me with a knowing smile.

"What?" I asked
"Nothing... I'll see ya later dove" he said as he began to leave the house
"Love you" I shouted, waiting for a reply
"Love ya" he shouted before I heard the door shut.

I smiled, taking another sip and basking in the silence
I was meeting a man today, a potential new business associate by the name of Walter Thomas

I finished my coffee and pulled my coat on, heading down to the tea house on Nadals street
I was greeted by a young guy in uniform, who looked at me nervously, figure shaking when he learned my name.

I was directed across the café floor, full of common customers, children eating ice cream and old couples sat together
A man smiled at me as I neared what I presumed to be my table.

He was a young gentleman, around my age I would guess
His dark hair and complexion accompanied his unwavering smile and handsome features
So... this was Mr Thomas, dressed in a suit and tie. Professional.
He stood up to greet me
"Miss Cortéz I presume?" He asked, holding a hand out for me to shake.

I mustered my best smile and returned the gesture, sitting down opposite him and ordering a cup of tea
"Very... quaint venue you chose" I commented casually, looking around at the small cafe that gave off a warm atmosphere.

It was actually a lovely place, less pressure and tension than a 5 star restaurant

"It's often the plainest sights that hold the rare jewels wouldn't you say?" He asked, looking around
"Quite" I said simply
"So... you're probably wondering why I've asked to meet you?" He began.
