Mariana's POV

It was a Tuesday morning, it had been a few days since my dinner with Solomons, I hadn't seen him since
We'd spoken on the phone through our respective sources, mine being my friend Dorothy, who moved up to London a year ago and became my secretary and Ollie, Alfie's little protege.

Tommy had apparently found 'Henry' or Michael as we all knew him, and Polly had called me nearly everyday worrying about how to act around him
Considering she hadn't been a mother in years now, I reassured her she was doing fine and that she practically raised all of us single handedly.

Tommy had come up to London this morning, barrelling through my door with Billy kitchen and demanding tea, I was still in my nightgown, hair messy and half of my breakfast waiting to be ate.

Today was the day we'd be setting up shop so to speak
Tommy and Billy brought around 30 trusted men up from Birmingham to work in Alfie's factory as part of their deal
All flooding my house and garden.

I had 30 women ready and waiting for my instruction.
I told them to be at Alfie's distillery by 1 and that I'd take care of the rest.

I left the men downstairs so that I could get ready, Evelyn had the day off and had gone out for the day with friends, so I had a peaceful breakfast until Tommy ruined it.

We made our way to the factory, a huge group of men and women conversing outside the factory doors waiting for us.

We made our way in, greeting Alfie and getting the process started such as paperwork and equipment.
I checked the room I had been given by Alfie, it was quite big, stations set up all over the place and high windows so no one could see in.
