Rose's POV

"All right. We won't tell Lissa." Adrian resigned, holding up his hands in surrender. "How do you normally take Lissa's darkness?" He asked me, after giving his Aunt a shrewd look.

"Normally, it just seeps into me when I open the bond. But for larger amounts she needs to send it through. Or, I need the assistances of physical touch to strengthen the bond so I can take larger amounts."

"And Vasilisa always knows you have taken the darkness?" Tatiana asked.

"Smaller amounts no. When it's built up like this, she would definitely know, especially if she was sending it to me. Wouldn't you notice a large chunk of darkness was missing?" I mocked.

"There must be a way for you to take the darkness without her finding out."  Tatiana angrily stated as she stared me down, like I was hiding something from her.

"Why do I have to take it at all? You said you would help me managed the darkness, with healing and charms and stuff. Why not just let Lissa learn to cope with it on her own." I scoffed, as I whipped my hair over my shoulder.

I have no intention of not taking the darkness, I just wanted to see Tatiana's reaction to my suggestion.

Tatiana looked stunned. Her mouth dropped open with a audible pop. Even Adrian was looking at me with shock. And Lissa always said I wasn't much of an actress. Ha!

"She is the last Dragomir! A Princess! We can't allow her to loss her mind. Or her life!" Tatiana hissed, her body was shaking so hard from anger, her tiara was even wobbling on top of her pretty head.

"I don't fancy losing my mind either." I countered, interested in seeing how far I can push her.

"She is worth so much more than you! Your just a Dhampir. I thought you understood that!" Tatiana shrieked at me as she stood to her feet, clearly pushed to her max.

And there it was. Her true colours showing. I'm just a Dhampir. She clearly sees me and all Dhampirs as disposable.

"I do. I just wanted to make my point clear." I lied, holding my hands up in mock defeat. "I might not always be around, she needs to learn to manage on her own."

"She's got a point Aunty." Adrian said interrupting whatever Tatiana was about to say. "Besides she's given me an idea."

"And what would that be Adrian ?" Tatiana asked, while giving me the stink eye.

"I will spilt the charmed rings between Lissa and Rose. That should help take the edge off for both of them. When Rose takes Lissa's darkness, I will heal Rose a little so she won't go insane. However, I will tell Lissa that I healed her darkness away as a one off, because her darkness was so bad. That will lead me into offering her lessons on how to manage the darkness without Rose." Adrian explained, looking very proud of himself.

"Get you, being all smart and stuff." I teased but generally impressed.

"Wouldn't Vasilisa figure out that Rose was the one taking the Darkness when she sends it through the bond?" Tatiana asked Adrian.

"If Rose touches Lissa the same time I pretend to heal her, she wouldn't know." Adrian replied in a confident manner that was borderline cocky.

"And how is Rose going to touch Vasilisa, without Vasilisa seeing her?" Tatiana questioned dismissively.

"Ah! Well I thought of that too Aunty." He replied with a grin. "In two days, it's Roses birthday. Lissa had already mentioned about throwing a memorial party to celebrate Rose's 18th for her. I believe I could persuade her to have a fancy dress party. Which means Rose would be able to get close to Lissa while wearing a disguise."
