Rose's POV

I don't want to return to St. Basils's. It felt wrong somehow. Childish. I had spent the weekend with my lover, who makes me feel so loved, complete and grown and now I have to be a plain Novice again.

As if reading my mind, Dimitri lifted my hand to his lips and whispered, "Only for a few more weeks."

I smile adoringly at him and squeeze his hand in thanks before turning back to face the front. What I really wanted to do is mount his lap and kiss him so passionately he forgets his own name but that idea had two big flaws.

Firstly, climbing onto the lap of a built six foot seven guy in a car seemed quite a challenge. Secondly, even if we managed it, I doubt Abe's Guardians would want to witness it.

A smirk spread across my lips as I pictured their horrified expression. Catching my expression, Dimitri raised a single eyebrow at me but I simply winked in return.

"We will be arriving in 15 minutes, Rose." Claxton said from the driver's seat of the seven seater, looking at me through the rear mirror.

Good, we will be arriving at 17:00 on a Sunday afternoon. Since visiting hours run until 19:00, hopefully most of the students will be too distracted to notice me arrive. I didn't fancy explaining why I was pulled out of school Thursday evening.

"Thanks Claxton." I replied trying not to burst out laughing when Dimitri places his hand on my knee.

The night we went out for a meal with Baba and Aggie, Aggie and I had a few bottles of wine between us. On the way home we were rather tipsy and trying to climb out of a limo in heels when you are feeling a little worse for wear was no easy task. Claxton who had exited the limo first to complete security check and offered me a hand. I imagine watching me trying to stand after climbing out the limo must of been the same as watching Bambi walk on ice. To steady me, Claxton wrapped his arm around me and placed his hand on my hip. Well, Dimitri wasn't to pleased with that. The second he exited the limo, he swept me up out of Claxton's arms and carried me bridal style into the house. Much to Claxton's annoyance and Abe's amusement.

Ever since, everytime Claxton speaks to me, Dimitri consciously or not touches me. Like he staking his claims and warning off his competition. I found it so amusing I couldn't be irradiated by it.

"I'm excited to visit St. Basils's." Aggie said. "It's got one hella reputation."

"It is rather impressive." I admitted, although the words made me feel like I was cheating on St Vlad's.

"It must be in a high risk area for you to need a 6 Guardian escort." She sniggered.

"Meh. You know Abe, he's over the top is every aspect of his life." I explain rolling my eyes.

Dimitri also shook his head in amusement, probably remembering the hissy fit I had with Abe about the amount of  Guardians he believed was needed to return me to school.

"Are you excited to see Vika?" I ask him.

"Yes." He grinned at me, excitement sparkling in his eyes. "I haven't seen her in years."

"What is she like?" Aggie asked us.

"A female version of Comrade here, but prettier and more fun." I joked.

"Mmm pretty and fun. Sounds like a nice combination." Aggie smirked wiggling her eyebrows at a uncomfortable Dimitri.

"She doesn't bat for the same team as you, Aggie." I said, giggling at Dimitri.

"And she is too young for you, even if she did." Dimitri added in full over protective big brother mode.

"Ha! Your one to talk." Aggie whispered only loud enough for Dimitri and I to hear. Dimitri scowled at her, which just made her laugh even more. "Oh well. But don't you have two other sisters as well?" She added in a little louder.
