Dimitri POV

I tried my best to stretch my weary legs inside the small confines of my car. The lack of sleep was really taking its toll on my body. Aggie and I had been up most of the night finalising our plans on how we're going to extract Toby.

As much as she hated to admit it, we decided it would be best if Aggie is the one to extract him, only because she will be deemed less of a threat because she's a woman. After seeing her train in the gym, I know what that woman was capable of. Poor Tony, if only he knew.

Therefore, she has been tracking him all day while I'm here at the airport, waiting to collect the compulsion expert and their Guardian.

I closed my eyes and leant my head back against the head rest. Since leaving Vladimir's I haven't truly had a minute to stop and think. I've either been; traveling, tracking, training or sleeping.

It has been roughly a month since the attack and when I lost my Roza. While her face fills my dreams, I haven't allowed myself to spend many waking moments thinking of her. It's not like I don't want to think of her. It's just that in the daytime my memories are filled with grief and longing, while my dreams are full of love and happiness.

Last night, I dreamt of Roza getting ready for a fancy dress party. She was dressed as a sexy mini mouse with long blonde hair. She looked beautiful as a blonde but nothing would ever replace her natural hair for me. Her hair had always called to me. I rubbed my fingers on my hand together, I could almost feel the sulkiness around them.

Opening my eyes, I looked sadly at my empty hand. Lifting it, I gripped Roza's pendant through my shirt and let my emotions consume for the count of 10.

10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1.

When I reached 1, I let out a heavy breath and let go of the pendant. Glancing at the clock I saw it was 15:46. Good, they should of landed and making their ways through baggage reclaim. Checking I looked presentable in the mirror, I drove up to the pick up point, ready to meet them.

About ten minutes later, I saw a Moroi woman, around 30 and dressed in a fine black skirt suit, walk out of the doors. Like all Moroi, she had very pale skin but her raven-black hair and bright blue eyes gave her away as a Ozera relation. She could of easily past as a sister to Tasha or Christian.

She turned to talk to someone behind her, who I assume was her Guardian. As he came into view, I was startled when I recognised him. I watched him usher the Moroi towards the car I was waiting in. Recovering myself, I climbed out of the car to receive them.

"My Lady, my name is Guardian Belikov and I will be working with you." I introduced myself, as I opened the rear passenger door for her.

"Lady Dorotthea Ozera." She answered before slipping into the back seat and out of the sun.

"Belikov, why am I not surprised to see you here." Stan Alto chuckled, shaking my hand after he had put their bags in the trunk.

"Well I am certainly surprised to see you." I replied warmly, returning the handshake. "Let's hit the road, we have a good hour before we get to the motel."

The drive back was a interesting one. Stan explained that he and most of the at Vladimir's Dhampir staff had been transferred to St. Andrew's with the Novice students.

Dorotthea, who like to be called Dora, was trained in level 3 of compulsion and attended high profile legal cases at court, as a sort of Moroi lie detector test. In-between cases, she teaches Moroi studies at St. Andrews and is one of the only six Moroi on campus.

"I just prefer the company of Dhampir! The Moroi are so serious and up themselves, I feel I can't be myself around them. Plus, Dhampir are much more open minded and fun." She giggled from the back seat.
