Camila's POV

Grey walls, white bed, shoes all over the place... it is exactly how I remember. That's what I was thinking while laid in Lauren's bed waiting for her.

After I opened my heart to her and finally apologized for what happened eight years ago, I impulsively hugged Lauren like it was the last thing I would do in my life. After a few minutes of a very comfortable silence, she asked me to wait for her to take a shower. It makes me happy to think that she could have just send me away, but she asked me to stay...

Anyway, like I was saying, here am I laying in bed thinking about my 16s. I don't know how many times I've been here, in this exact same room, looking at this exact same window. I know it's been eight years, but I'm so happy it feels the same.
I got up, tired of waiting, and started to look at Lauren's books lined up on the shelf on one of the walls. That's probably the only thing that changed, there is a lot of interesting books that I haven't seen here before. I choose a random book to look and was about to take it off the shelf when Lauren's voice clouded the room

- That's one of my favorites.

I freaking jumped when she spoke, she catched me looking at her things. She came closer, and closer, and closer... and then picked up the book, showing me the cover.

- "I'd receive the worst news from your beautiful lips", a brazilian book. It's about a man who falls in love with a married woman, but decide to live that love anyway. According to this book, what makes us different from each other is just how much we can desire what we can't have.

I was a little bit shocked with how close her eyes were from mine, so it took a while for me to answer. I thought this thing our fans called gay panic was gone, but apparently it got worse.

- Seems interesting... sorry for messing with your stuff, I was a little bored of waiting... Turns out you still delay in the shower

She laughed a little, and seeing her doing it warmed my heart. Lauren turned back and asked if I've seen her phone and only then I realized I completely forgot about Shawn.

- Oh shit, I forgot..

- What?

- Shawn... - I said while searching for my phone on the bed, where I was laying before.

- Here - Lauren handed me the phone, she found it - are you going out tonight?

- No, he's in Cali... He was going to text me to let me know he arrived.

I pressed the bottom and the phone's screen lighted up to let me know I had 3 missed calls. One from mom, two from Shawn. First I opened whatsapp and answered my boyfriend's text, told him I was happy to know he's okay and apologizing for the delay. Then I told my mom I am at Lauren's home and didn't wait for an answer cause I knew she would complain cause I forgot to tell her.

- Let's go downstairs? Dinner is probably ready.

Lauren and I went to the kitchen where her mom and Taylor were cooking pasta.

- Camila!

- Hi, Taylor! Omg you've grown up!

She hugged me and told me she missed me, and all I could think is she's taller than Lauren, which means I'm getting old.

- Dinner is ready! Today Michael and Chris are working, so it's just us. I'm glad you're joining us, Camila. - Clara said with her welcoming smile on her face.

- Thank you, Clara. I miss your amazing food!

Lauren's POV

Camila, Taylor, my mother and I had a great time while we ate. We talked about our lives, we laughed, we had fun like old times.

Although my mother almost begged Camila to stay a little longer, she said she had to go home after promising she'd go back some other day.
I walked her to the car and we stared at each other, saying nothing. There was nothing to be said. After a few seconds that felt like eternity Camila broke the silence.

- Well... that's it, then. Thanks for lunch, and especially thanks for listening to me.

- Thank you, for apologizing. For coming to see me, for worring. Today was a special day, Camila.

I put my hands on my jeans' pockets, realizing I don't want to say goodbye.

- Do you think we can ever be friends again?

I let a smile take over my face when she said that. Can you believe she was asking to be my friend, like a 15 years old?

- Yes, I think we can. Let's see what the future brings.

Her phone beeped. It was Shawn calling again. Honestly I don't know what she's doing with him, they just don't fit. I always thought that.

- I gotta go. Thanks again, Lauren.

She turned the call down, opened the car door and I held it for her to get inside.

- See you soon? - I asked still holding the door.

- I hope so, yes.

- Okay. Goodbye, Camila.

- Goodbye, Lauren.

I looked at her one last time and then closed the door, taking a few steps back so she could turn the car on and leave.

After a few hours I was laying on my bed and thinking what the hell that woman made to me... I just can't stop thinking about her.
