The Promise We Did

Chapter 18

I woke up early thanks to my habit of training Early in the morning now. It was around 5 am but i was ready to train for the day. I gazed around and saw Lucario and Pikachu up and aswell. Our determination got best of us and we beamed out of the house. I knew where exactly to train but first I just needed to see the place again. The same place with one of my most beautiful memory. The place where I first met Serena.

After running for a while , I was finally there. Just being in this place gives me peace inside, I wonder what's gonna happen when I see her.

"Master?" ; "Pika?" Both of my companions questioned me breaking me out of my dozed off self.

"Oh haha , Im sorry. Let's begin" i said. And with that started out training again. First some running followed up by Pokemon attacks on me to measure their power then a battle between them.

After good 3 hours of training, we jogged back home covered in sweat and wounds. Well but we three just had smile plastered on our face. I don't why it was. I was feeling really happy to be back or was it caused the spot I trained in? Anyway , I knew my buddies will mimic my emotion. That shows the deep bonds we carry with us.

"I'm home" I say opening the door.

"Welcome back sweetie, get fresh and come for breakfast" I heard mom's Voice from kitchen.

After taking a bath we joined mom in Kitchen.
She put out a plate in front of me following with two more for Lucario and Pikachu.

"Thank you for the food!" We praised before startup to eat it all up.

"Well I was gonna ask you where did you go do early as I heard the door open and shut , but then I realised you've been training from last 2 years. You finally learned how to wake up early , atleast thats nice" she said smiling and chuckling

"Yeah it kinda is" I replied scratching my cheek.

She turned on the T.V and by default it started with news channel. I was still busy eating the food.

"A comet appearing every 100 years will be passing by earth in from a month from now. It's being said , it will be visible to naked eyes and the coincidence is that it matches the festival of lights too! So it's like a comet illuminating the festival for us through the stars-" The anchor's voice was interrupted by mom switching channel to her favourite cooking show. We'll all these tasty dishes she makes for me, I can't really get annoyed that she changed the channel.

I don't know why but I felt my aura unsettling after hearing the news. Was that related to the destruction I saw? I don't know that but what I know is the comet does play some part in it. I need to get to them as soon as I can.

"Mom do u by any chance know where my friends might be?" I asked finishing eating the last bit of my food.

"If you're talking about Misty Gary and Brock. They did came here to invite you to join them on their journey in Kalos, but you weren't home" she said, acting as if she's trying to remember something.

Kalos? Why are Brock Misty and Gary in Kalos? Are they exploring it ? Well Dad's word are getting proven true day by day. I guess I'll have to head off to Kalos right away.

"I guess I'll have to head off to Kalos" I said smiling.

"Now that you've survived training on Mount Silver. I can safely say you are old enough to take care of yourself" she said with pride in her eyes.

"Can I.. uhm... Head off... Uh..-" I was cut off.

"Yeah, you can head off today itself" she replied.

"You sure can understand me too well" i said smiling.

"Sush, I'm your mother afterall. I know what my child wants to say" she said smiling.

"Do u want me to book you flight tickets?" She asked

"That won't be necessary , i got my own means of transportation" i said with a silly face.

I sat up and brought her in a tight hug which she didn't even took a second to return.

"I have promised dad something, I have to fullfil his promise" I said. I felt a bit of my t shirt getting wet then i heard silent sobs.

"Mom don't cry, please...." I could whisper.

She parted from Hug and wiped her tears away, "My little Pokemon Master have grown up so fast...." She said smiling looking at me.

"You will not go with these clothes Ash Ketchum wait up, I bought new clothes when you were out training" she said as she dragged me into hall room.

"How were the shops even open so early?" I asked.

"I went at 7 am , as there as noone around it didn't took me much time. Anyway here" she said taking out some clothes from a bag nearby.

I saw a white shirt which was kinda weird as I didn't like wearing shirts much T-shirts were my go through. Then she pulled out a grey t t-shirt pajamas and underwear?? I just sweat dropped looking at the underwear. Even though she says I'm gown up she still treats me like a child hehe. Next she pulled out something I didn't expect, a black overcoat and a black jeans and Finally something I liked the most out of the bunch, A black and blue accented hoodie. Man she does sees me as a gown up now. She then brought out another bag and removed a black Yukata from it?

"What's the Yukata for?" I asked

"Make sure you enjoy the festival that's there in one month and as I know you don't even know what's right to wear at these festivals I went ahead and bought it. It would've been much easier if you've had a girlfriend ya know" she teased me in the end there.

"Mom!!!!" I exclaimed

"Im joking, Now go and get changed" she said. Handing me this whole pile of clothes.

"Okay!" I said heading off and changing into the black jeans and hoodie then I went back in the room.

"You are kinda grown up now" she said smiling.

Pikachu and Lucario had a bright smile on their faces aswell, Man do they mimic my emotions or my Mom's?

I nodded then went ahead and packed all of these stuff in my bag. I walked towards the main door and saw New shoes aswell

"Mom all of this wasn't needed" I said

"You're starting a new journey, it should be started with a new piece of look too right?" She said.

I nodded and wore the shoes and headed outside. I tossed the pokeball with Charizard and as soon as he got out. First thing he did was fire a flame thrower right in the air.

Mom went ahead and scratched it on his wings earning a bright smile from him.

"I guess I should get going, take care you yourself Mom!" I said bringing her in another hug.

"I will. Pikachu Lucario make sure he doesn't do anything stupid" she said bringing them in a hug aswell.

"Pika!" Said pikachu with a thumbs up.

"Yes Mam!" Said Lucario with a bright smile.

I hopped onto Charizard with Pikachu on my shoulder and Lucario behind me.

"See ya mom!"

"See ya sweetie, don't forget to change your underwears!!" She screamed as Charizard took off.

"Mom!!!!" I exclaimed but I was happy to see her. I know it would be hard for her specially after bringing dad up again but I know she's gonna go through it. I already talked with Garry's mom last night and She'll be accompanying her too whenever she needs someone to talk to.

"Kalos... Here I come"
