The Promise We Did

Chapter 30

-Ash's pov

I was training in the forest behind the Pokemon center , We're supposed to leave for Vaniville town today. So i have to finish up quick today.

"Lucario Shadow Ball , Greninja Water Cannon!"

Both of them obeyed and fired an attack towards me, if i wanna see the power of their attack, i need to take these attacks head on.

I closed my eyes and waited for impact and soon it did crash into me sending my flying backward.

"Master!" "Grenin!" "Pikachu"

Is all I heard before everything went dark. But damn it was the strongest I've been ever hit.

I openend my eyes up feeling some weight on my arm. Then I realised I was in my room in the pokemon center with the weight being Serena resting herself on my hand sitting on a chair. I took the free hand and caressed her hair, she twitched after a while. Probably sensed the movement on her head, she rubbed her eyes and then looked at me. Her face...... It was puffy...was she crying?

"Serena.....I didn't mean to make-" I began saying but before that she Leapt at me on the bed hugging the life out of me.

"Oh Arceus, you're alright!!!!" She screamed still hugging me as if I'm gonna die if she stops.

"Serena...I can't... Breathe" I managed to say before she actually released me.

"Oh I'm so so sorry MR! STOP SCARING US LIKE THIS!" she started off sarcastically before anger boiled up in her and she starred scolding me.

"This won't happen again , don't worry" I replied smiling.

She was still pouting in anger before I saw her face relax and a bright appear on her bright cute face. She leaned in closer to me as I did too dragging me into a calm but meaningful kiss. After the kiss she hugged me snuggling onto my shoulder , I just wispherd in her ears.

"I love you..."

"I love you too" she replied, again she just being in my arms makes me much at peace. This voices that I've been hearing recently just erases when I'm near her or holding her.
She's really....my actual strength.

Anyways after a while I just got fresh in the bathroom while she joined the rest of the group in the cafeteria. After getting changed I headed out to Cafeteria being greeted by warm smiles of everyone and concerned greetings by Pikachu and Lucario. After being scolded by Brock and Gary to not take the attacks head on with Serena chimming in, it was finally the time we leave for Vaniville town.

Again we packed our bags and headed out on the route to Vaniville town, Serena and Mine interlocked as we Walk.

"So Serena, are you excited to visit your hometown after so long?" I asked her.

"Yeah, it's been 3 years since I've been back at home. It's gonna really be interesting to see when I tell mom about us" she replied smiling.

"Yeah, I have a good feeling about it" I replied with a bright smile.

After walking the whole day , being teased in between or just enjoying making fun of each other we were almost there but as the forest were deep , we couldn't pass through it at night and decided to camp out in the open space nearby. The sun was sending any remaining rays giving out dim light, enough for us to search for woods. Me, Serena and Lucario went in the woods to get wood to burn in campfire while others were setting up the camp.

After gathering enough of them we decided to head back.

"Ash?" I heard Serena's voice as she stood frozen to my right.
