The Promise We Did

Chapter 33

"The City...it's where, the real quest start"
"But... When should I get to the city and what city??"

"Ash"

"The world awaits you.."

"Ash!"

"But where?!?"

"ASH!!"

My eyes Shot open, hearing my name chanted repetitively by a familiar voice I adored. I saw Serena sitting near me on my mattress with a visible concern and gist of annoyance on her face.

"You're such a heavy sleeper" Serena said sighing in relief.

"Morning Rena" I said looking right into her oceanic deep blue eyes. My day just got hundred times better, by just waking up and seeing her face for the first thing that my eyes gaze upon.

"Rena? When the heck did I get that nickname" she asked chuckling with a warm smile and her eyes closed while her hand covered her mouth.

"Just now. You like it?" I asked scratching my hair.

"Love it, just like you Ashy!" She said as she leaned in pecking my cheek then standing up.

"You should come down, the breakfast is ready and everyone is waiting for ya! Pikachu is specially is not really in a good mood" she said leaving the room.

"I'll be there" I replied finally leaving my bed and heading towards the shower.

These voices are just getting louder and louder. What city does they want me to be in? Again, whose voice was it. I..I don't remember. Only thing I can rely on is fate, fate will guide me..... Right?

Apart from receiving healthy dose of thunderbolt from Pikachu for not training today and some taunts about my sleeping habits changing. I was really happy eating up the delicious of a breakfast, Mrs. Grace is such a great cook, no wonder Serena is so good.

Serena...man I feel so good around her, specially she's seated next to me holding my hand. She's just that adorable. She wears that blue ribbon like a charm, no way I'll let it ever fall. She's my queen, ain't no one coming near her, Pokemon or Person even if i have to take on the whole universe to protect her, i will.

I probably was dozed off looking at her smiling as I missed the topic going on the table.

"Yeah, the semi finals are in Luminose city in 10 days" May said looking at her pokedex.

"I guess , we should get going to Luminose city then. You'll have to practice too!" Misty chimed in.

"I guess..." Serena sighed, looking her Mrs. Grace. There was a visible sadness on her face, but it soon cleared off with a bright smile. She sat up and brought Serena in a embrace , one that Serena took no time to return.

"I guess you guys gotta get going?" She said breaking the Hug and looking at her daughter and us.

"Yeah..." Serena replied with a warm smile.

"Ill be there in the finals! So make sure you three make it there" Mrs. Grace added looking at Dawn and May.

"We'll try our best!" Both May and Dawn said enthusiastically.

We were ready to leave , we turned around one last time to thank Mrs. Grace.

"Now have fun you two, but not too much. I don't wanna be a grandmother just yet" she said winking. Me and Serena both went full red while the group behind just chuckled.

"Thank you for having us Mrs. Grace!" Dawn said smiling.

"Sush now, when you guys win the Finals, well go on a vacation!" Mrs Grace replied looking at the whole group.

"Really?" May said while her eyes sparkled.

"Yeah, Promise!" She replied. When I heard the word promise I felt some weird sensation that I feel whenever those voices echo in my head.

"See you mom!" Serena said waving.

"See ya sweetie" she said with a bright smile.

After walking for the whole day, we found ourselves in deep forest again as dark sky covered up. Just sitting around the camp fire , while our pokemon having fun on the side playing in themselves.

"I guess we should increase our speed a bit? As we gotta reach Luminose city atleast day after tommorow, for them to have enough time to practice" Said Brock taking a sip off from his soft drink can.

"Yeah , i feel the same" Misty agreed to the point.

"Seems right to us" Dawn said , then looked at May who smiled and nodded and then they looked at Serena, wide asleep on my shoulder.

"Guess she was tired" Bonnie said looking at Serena.

"Yeah, she was up really early" I replied , stroking her hair gently.

"I guess we should head to sleep now" Clemont said Standing up.

"Mhm" everyone nodded and headed in their tent after returning their pokemon back into their respective pokeballs.

I just sat there with Serena asleep , looking at the fire thinking about the future. Will I be with her for rest of my life? I do really hope so... Just as I was thinking , I felt like I'm getting tired too. I picked Serena up and started to carry her to her tent. She probably felt movement as she woke up and saw me carrying her.

"Ashy, what are you doing?" She asked warmly.

"Carrying my beautiful girlfriend to her tent" I replied with a warm smile. She went ahead and wrapped her arms around my neck.

After we've reached her tent, I placed her gently down and I started to stand up but felt a tug on my t shirt. I looked around and saw Serena holding it.

"I want you to sleep with me" she said still in half awake state.

"Alright, let me go tell Pikachu" I said finally standing up and heading out.

"Hey Pikachu, Lucario" I said as both of them looked at me with confusion and came running.

"Pika?" ; "Yes master?"

" You two can go and rest in my tent, I'll be sleeping in Serena's tent today" I said.

"Ok master" ; "pika!" Both of them said as they rushed towards my tent. I saw Lucario became kind off a guardian to Pikachu. When he was young Riolu the job was actually the other way around. Anyway after both of them went into my tent, I went back into Serena's tent.

I laid next to her and as soon as I did , she rolled over onto me so that our faces directly looked at each other, barely any distance between the two.

"Ehm Rena what are you-" I managed to ask before getting cut off.

"Have you heard about how people kiss in Kalos?" She asked.

"No not.... really" I replied with a warm smile.

"Let me show you then"
