Continuation...
Time passed, days went by. I have lost track of how many days I've been kept here. The only time I see them was when they came down to give me food, none of them said a single word to me. It was torture, being tied against the chair in a dark, empty room and only let free to eat under their supervision.
One day, I let my hopes high again. "We decided not to tie you up anymore, but you're not leaving our sight and you have to do everything we say." I quickly nodded, just wanting to be free. Not knowing that was just the start of hell...
"Dumb bitch! Why can't you do anything right?!" Chan shouted at me, followed by a hard slap as the other members glared at me. I had accidentally spilt a cup of water on Chan because Jisung had tripped me. Tears welled up in my eyes as my cheek stung. "Aw, hyung you scared her again. Look at her cry, how pathetic." Minho snorted at me, still on the floor from the impact.
"She is, and she's noisy. Can someone just shut her up already?" That was all they needed to start it again. By it, I meant them beating me up. When I thought it would get better after being freed from the ropes, I was wrong; it was the opposite. They would hit me with any possible reason, no they do it without one anyway and it would get worse as days go by.
Months, years have passed by. My parents had been paying them large amounts they had asked for from time to time, Chan had been lying to them about returning me to them, eventually saying I was dead so that they wouldn't find me. Somehow, I've managed to survive the past three years...of hell.
They've beaten me, whipped me, starved me and even burnt me with their cigarette buds or even hot water, everything. My frail body was covered with bruises, cuts and dried blood. I had given up hope of seeing the outside world, haven't being able to step out of the house since I've entered; my life was worse than a maid's. Today was the same as usual; being yelled at and beaten up.
"We're heading out for business. Changbin, you stay here and watch that burden." With that, they left Changbin and I alone in the house, they've never left me alone in the house. Changbin, he was...different. He had never hurt me, not a single time but he too had never helped me. I was in my 'room', sitting on the floor in the corner where a blanket laid, the corner I call my bed.
Suddenly, a knock was heard and Changbin came in. "Erm Y/n? I owe you an apology. I know it's been three years and I'm late as hell but I'm sorry. I tried stopping hyung and the others but they wouldn't listen. Look, I will let you go but you need to work with me." I stared at him in confusion and doubt.
He continued, "You need to trust me, I won't let them know. I'll be dead if they ever found out anyway. I've rigged the car so they will need me to go get them. We just need to break a window or something to make it look like you escaped when I was out." I nodded slowly at his words, still processing as I was unable to understand something.
"Won't you get into trouble for helping me? Why are you doing it?" It was the first time I looked at anyone of them. "Because no one deserves to be treated like this, and I've had enough of them treating my friend like that."
We did as we had planned, breaking a window in the living room. "Can I really go?" I asked Changbin once more, staring at the broken glass. "Yes, and take this with you," passing me a phone, "It has my number in it so contact me whenever you need help. Now go, I have to go get them. See you, Y/n and stay safe." Thank you, Changbin. Stepping on outside ground for the first time in three years, I ran. I ran far for as long as I could till I came across a bar that was brightly lit by its neon lights...Destiny.
End of flashback
"That was how I met Ateez. If you were thinking why I didn't go back to my parents, I tried but they had moved away and I couldn't find them. Even Changbin couldn't. Changbin was the one I had mentioned before, he's the one who had helped me throughout the years. I really owe it to him." I ended my 'story', looking up at the stars. "That's horrible...they've beaten me yes but that was all. I'm so sorry about what you've went through, unnie." Ae Ri's voice was muffled against my shoulder as she hugged me.
"You know, Changbin was also the one who helped me when I stayed there. He would always try to prevent them from hitting me whenever possible and I have always been so thankful for him, he was also the one who leaves the door unlocked on purpose several times for me to escape but I had always been too scared." I turned to her.
He had never told me about her, probably afraid to remind me of that bastard. "That's Changbin for you I guess. His younger sister was abused as a child until she was 8 and he had lost her, that was why he moved out and met SKZ, and that is why he had helped us. He didn't want us to be trapped in what his sister had went through." Ae Ri looked at me in disbelief, shocked at the new information of Changbin.
"After I met Ateez, Changbin and I remained in contact but not often. The day I uh, I lost my parents he did give me a warning but my phone had died. Changbin showed up the next day and helped me with my parents' funeral. He was also the one who admitted me into the institute, thinking it would be helpful. I don't blame him though, he didn't know what I went through as I've never told him whenever he visited until the tenth month when I had finally got some time alone with him without the staff supervising us, and he got me out immediately. Honestly, without him, I'd probably be dead by now."
