I felt my heart drop as I heard the doctor's words but nonetheless waited for him to complete his sentence, hoping for the best. "...she is unfortunately still in a coma as her body still needs time accepting the new blood but other than that she will be fine. She is already out of danger and just needs a lot of rest, also make sure she takes care of her wounds." As soon as he finished, Wooyoung hyung fell on his knees. "Thank you so much, doctor." Everyone thanked the professional as we waited to visit Y/n noona.
"Hyung, she's fine. Noona is okay." I breathed as I hugged Wooyoung hyung who had finally calmed down, tear stains now dried along his cheeks. "Thank god. Jongho-ah, hyung is sorry. I couldn't protect her like I promised you and it was because of me that she got hurt..." Hyung's apologetic voice trailed off weakly as he too wrapped his arms around me tightly.
"No, hyung. Don't blame yourself, if anything I'm to blame too, I failed to protect her too but all that matters is that noona is fine." I answered him, showing a small smile. "Yeah, you're right. Always our wise maknae." Wooyoung hyung tone had finally lightened up as he ruffled my hair.
"You can visit her now but please be quiet. She is still very weak and not yet awake." The nurse informed us, making everyone jump up from their seats and bolting straight into the private ward while thanking the nurse.
Our feet stumbled but stopped when we saw Y/n noona on the bed; looking so weak and pale. Wooyoung hyung was the first to move, stepping closer to noona, plopping down onto the chair next to the bed as he grabbed her hand. Slowly, we took our own seats around the ward, watching noona intently for any movements from her.
Wooyoung's POV
Hours have passed since Y/n was shifted to the private ward but there were still no signs of her waking up. The boys and Ae Ri had decided to give me some time with Y/n as they went to visit Seonghwa hyung who had already woken up. My attention was back on Y/n as I snapped out of my thoughts, tears pricking my eyes yet again. Y/n-ah...please wake up soon. I kept praying for her eyes to open, for her to tell me that she's alright now.
My heart ached seeing her current situation, even though she wasn't awake she looks so tired and she was covered in injuries. I couldn't hold it in as I let my tears fall, sobbing quietly as I held her hand to my face. I couldn't help but feel guilty and sorry, sorry for failing to protect and even causing her to get hurt because I was careless. "I'm so sorry, baby girl..." I mumbled as I slowly drifted off to sleep.
"Hyung? Hyung, wake up." I faintly heard Jongho's voice as I stirred awake, immediately snapping up to check on Y/n thinking that something had happened to her only to see her still in the same position as before. Sighing, I looked up to see Jongho standing next to me with a hand on my shoulder. "We have to go now. Visiting hours are over." He informed me softly, thumb jabbing towards the clock hanging on the wall.
I stood up slowly, hand still holding onto Y/n's, unwilling to let go or leave her. "Come on, Wooyoung. We can come back first thing tomorrow. We need a bath and some food too." Hongjoong hyung said as he too stood by my side, grabbing my arm. I finally separated my hand from hers, taking one last glance at her before closing the door.
See you tomorrow, my dear.
The next morning came as I was rudely woken up by my alarm clock. I groaned as I sat up with a slight headache from the lack of sleep; yes insomnia is still getting me. Y/n, you owe me a good sleep. All I can think of is you, worry about you and pray for you. I need you back by my side now.
As always, a knock on the door interrupted my thoughts. San had peeked his head in, giving me a wide smile which showed off his dimples.
"Hey, Woo. Good morning! I heard your alarm go off so I'm here to check. Let's go down for breakfast and we can go visit Y/n!" He exclaimed excitedly, grabbing my arm as he pulled me up and steering me towards the dining room. "Woo's here!" The cheerful boy announced, making the others who were already at the table greet me happily but all I could muster was a half-hearted smile and thankfully they didn't mind. I was picking at my food absentmindedly, still worrying about Y/n.
"Woo, snap out of it. You have to eat. Who's gonna look after Y/n if you too are sick? We ain't taking care of your girl for you, unless you give her up to us 'cause I honestly wouldn't mind." Yunho said jokingly but his words made me defensive as I glared at him and snatched the sandwich out of his hands, making the boy chuckle triumphantly.
Taking my seat by her bed again, my hand found itself on her still bruised cheek and just talked to her although I'm not sure if she can hear me. "If you wake up now, I will do anything for you. So please, please wake up dear girl." I sighed as my hand had travelled down to hers, holding it gently because even her hands had cuts on them.
My poor baby...how could they treat someone as precious as her like this, I thought as I carefully brushed her bandaged wounds on her arm.
"Wooyoung-ah, do you want to visit Seonghwa hyung?" Mingi asked as some of them were preparing to go over to his ward. I was hesitant, not wanting to leave Y/n's side even for a second but Seonghwa hyung was the one who had saved her life and so I nodded. I smiled slightly seeing Seonghwa hyung sitting up on his bed, chatting with Hongjoong hyung and Ae Ri who were already there.
"Wooyoungie! Are you okay? How's Y/n?" Seonghwa hyung's motherly side was surfacing again, worry filled his eyes. I must look like shit for him to ask me if I'm okay when Y/n's the one who's still unconscious."Hey, hyung. I'm fine but how about you? Do you feel okay? Thank you so much for helping Y/n, hyung." I thanked him sincerely, to which he smiled and nodded.I stayed in hyung's ward to chat with him, until Yunho barged in, taking quick breathes while shouting.
"GUYS! It's Y/n-!"
