Silence is underrated. We seem obsessed with talking and being heard rather than listening to each other. This constant need for attention is omnipresent as we scream to be noticed. We can dye our pets' fur, get tattoos, and buy flashy jewelry, cars and clothes. No one wants to listen to their inner voice anymore when they could just as easily put on their headphones while travelling, jogging or studying. There seems to be no respite from all this noise. Must we talk incessantly to fill in the void?
