The relevance of this quote to the hypocrisy with which we live our lives inspires me. Altruistically giving to the less fortunate is fine, but its spark gets dull once you talk about it. The desire to see your name on a plaque once you have made a sizable donation to a charitable organization. The constant need for a pat on the back for a job well done and, of course, that little hidden agenda.
