I tried to warn the others about this intruder when I was abruptly transported into another dimension. I sensed a premonition; Death was lurking around the corner, cloaked in deceit, hiding from fearful eyes. He watched patiently as his eyes locked in on mine.
The sky above was bright orange, with grey clouds streaking across it. A sense of gloom overcame me; my father was presumed dead. The ground I stood upon was also in motion, both above and below me; things were moving pretty fast as I tried my best to dodge the planets whizzing past me. It's no easy feat to escape from those meteors that travel quicker than the speed of light.
People cloaked in dark robes wasted no time in delivering their eulogies. I rushed into a doorway and saw him with a smile on his face, reassuring me that he was well and that this was a routine check-up. A sense of relief washed over me. Then I felt an orange droplet of lava fall on my skin; I looked up and saw that there was no ceiling. A downpour left a mark on us every time it fell. There we were, just the two of us. Did we really survive? Were we guilty of flying too close to the sun, like Icarus?
