"Happiness" is like this mythical creature we all seem to be searching for, in vain. Many believe it can be found in retail therapy; others feel that jumping from one relationship to another is the answer. We assume that it is our birthright to feel happy, and someone jolly well make us feel good about ourselves right about now! We are all too familiar with sayings such as 'happiness is within' or 'happiness is a state of mind'. By golly! If I could just tune into that channel. 'Happiness' has been over-analyzed to death, and there are even pills for it. The truth is, it is transitional. It will leave you hankering for more; as you try desperately to hold on to it, it slips away.
