Regret is the one thing that I guess tugs at most of us. We are followed by this nagging sense of emptiness every moment we feel our time is up. We seem to have run along and done many things, yet this sense of what we didn't do is what fills our hearts. It could range from not being able to realize all the goals and dreams we had set aside for ourselves. Perhaps we didn't do enough for the people we care for or spend enough time with them. Mostly, it's that we didn't walk on the wild side and break free. The realization that we did nothing for our soul is what gets us. That doesn't mean that you go around hurting people but what's wrong with saying what's on your mind? How about going skydiving, backpacking around the world or trying a new skill set? Towards the end, we want more time, yet when we have an abundance of time, we claim that we are bored and stuck in a rut. All along, giving ourselves a false sense of security that this ride will last forever.
