"LAYY GIVE IT BACK IT'S NOT FUNNY" I yelled at lay who was running around with my shirt I needed for school, I'm queen, I'm sixteen and I go to Barkley High the most ghetto school that exist there's no uniform and everyone that goes is basically ghetto I mean yeah we was raised in the ghetto but those kids are ghetto by themselves. "LAY I PROMISE WHEN I FIND YOU IM GOING TO" before I could even finish that sentence my dad stood there with his cup of coffee sipping it and looking at me with lay standing there with a stupid grin on her face "mind I ask what makes you think your gong to wear that today at school" my dad said taking another sip of his coffee my dad is not a bad parent but he his very over protective of us "come Ln dad it's just a shirt and a skirt" I said already knowing what he is going to say "queen you might as well go back in your room and change I'm not letting you out this house dressed like that" I stood there looking at them high five each other and look at me "well can I get my shirt since I can't wear it" I said holding my hand out "hmmm naw I think ima hold on to this" was all he said turning around and leaving while lay sticks her tongue out at me and leave. I head to my room and automatically start to find another outfit until I started to hear shuffling in the background "couldn't wait a little while longer" I said with a grin on my face knowing who it was "you know damn well I don't like waiting on your slow ass" kentrel said now coming in my walk in closet "at least you could've came through the door you know people are going to start thinking you're re a burglar or something" I said rumbling through clothes "ewww no that's so.. normal" he said picking up a baggy shirt and ripped jeans with a pair of air force ones "thanks see that's why your my bestfriend" I said heading in my bathroom and locking it and started to do my hygiene and my hair. Since I was born there was never a time I don't remember that we was ever apart he was even there when my mom died I stood in the mirror looking at myself i took a breath and stepped out and saw kentrel on the phone playing with the things on my dresser when he saw me he hung up a smiled "ready to go" he said I looked and said yeah grabbing all my things and leaving my room "hey Mr. Carter how is your morning" kentrel said walking over to the fridge and taking some juice out "kentrel this is my last time telling you to stop going through my damn fridge and you know we have a door" my dad said looking at him as if he don't do this every day "yeah I know you got a door" kentrel said now heading to lay and kissing her forehead. My dad was known to our relationship since we was young so he was comfortable with us together the, first time kentrel started to come through my bedroom window my dad wasn't t surprised he would check on us time to time but was ok with it "come on kentrel I'm ready to go" I said kissing my dad and lay cheek "ok ok I'm coming" he said passing by and  leaving "bye dad" I said closing the door "kentrel you have a car why are we walking" I said looking at him confused "I like walking with you, you should know that but now" he said wrapping his arm around my neck all i did was smirk at his smart comment. 10 minutes passed and we were finally at school "so what you wanna have for lunch" he said looking in his phone "damn we ain't even make it on school property and your already asking me what I want to eat but ill text you though" I said seeing Mya and her little crew coming "oh my gosh" I said rolling my eyes at her Mya and I weren't friend cause she is  one those  girls that play both sides and feel like she is never wrong " heyyy babe" she said. Kentrel was popular he played basketball he was co-caption of our team he was that good and you could say he was in the streets also but that was because his mom left them with nothing so he was basically taking care of him and his dad "wassup bae" he said kissing her I rolled my eyes and started to leave until he grabbed my hand and gave me a look to see what was wrong "I'm fine I see Angela text you in class ok" he looked and let go of my hand and shook his head ok and left with Mya I signed and went over to Angela "QUEENN" Angela yelled trying to get through the crowd "DAMN GET OUT THE WAY" she said pushing people I started to laugh at her "Oh my gosh it's only the first day and people already getting on my nerves....so where's kentrel" she asked looking around for him Angela liked kentrel but not in a boyfriend and girlfriend type of way Angela was gay so she wasn't t so dramatic like everyone else "the devil got a hold of him" was all I said before checking my schedule and going to my first period "that's a shame both of them are different people like that's a bad combination buttt.." she stopped to see my reaction or response "Angela how many times do I have to tell you that me and him are only bestfriends" I said knowing that she was going to bring it up. Since me and kentrel where so close people literally thought we where together and we would have to say that we wasn't at times we would play along and say we where but we haven't did that since middle school days "I'm just saying y'all have the best connection y'all would be good together" I just ignored her and went in class and the first person I see is kentrel I shook my head laughing a little bit of course we have classes together every year we had classes together I felt like  they knew what they were doing "well look what we have here, hey stranger" kentrel said smiling showing his golds I didn't even notice that he had them in "well stranger you should know by now that they put us in same class every year" I said sitting next to him we just started to laughing until the bell rung for class to start "so you coming to my practice" he whispered "now why would you ask me that don't t I always come to see you play" it was no point of kentrel to practice or audition he was always making the team even the couch knew about it the only reason why he ain't captain because he didn't t want the responsibility of what they have for the team one slip up and it's automatically there fault that's what he always thought. Mr. Potters finally came on class and started the lesson I thought to myself that this year is going to be long, after two boring periods and a awfully long sit down with Angela, kentrel, Mya and her crew of course it was awful because kentrel bought me food instead of her so she started throwing a fit so I just got up and left. Into my last period kentrel was blowing up my phone about lunch I used  to hate when he did that he knew I wasn't t mad but he made sure I was ok so I just texted him that I was ok once I did that he read it and said ok I cut off my phone and that was it sat through a class that had no teacher and with everyone talking "hey ain't you kentrel bestfriend ugh" before he could even finish I said "queen, yeah I'm his bestfriend" I looked at him he was fine like really fine "I'm Jayden" he said sitting next to me "I know who you are Mr. captain of the basketball team" I said making him laugh "ok I see you"  he said showing his pearly white teeth God spent his time on him do t bet me wrong Kentrel was fine but he was only a friend so we sat there and talked the whole class and he's a cool person to be with the bell rung and he told me he would catch me around and I left to meet kentrel "hey baby momma" he stay joking around "so what time you gonna pick me so we can go to your practice" I said checking my phone " maybe 3:00 but imma get you maybe 2:54 ok" I shook my head yeah and we started walking home. When we saw our house went hugged and like always he walks me to my door and kisses my forehead and say bye and leaves "IS THAT MY LITTLE PRINCESS THAT JUST CAME IN" he yelled from his room I laughed and yelled back "YEAH DAD IM HOME BUT IM FINNA GET READY AND GO" I said heading in his room "kentrel practice " he said without even looking up "yeah" I  said sitting next to him on his bed "ok, take lay with you" I didn't even say anything I just said ok. The weekend came and like all my Saturdays went kentrel would come through my window and lay with me until night hit but instead he had plans and said he would come over later on so I got up and went to lay room she was sleep ,watching her is like peaceful to me sometimes I would just watch her and wait till she wake up and I'll leave but today I just wanna lay with her until she wake up, see I never hated her growing I was close to her she was my baby sister of course I'm close to her but never in my life have I ever blamed her for our mom death not to long after her death my dad told me what happened...she was sick that really took a toll on me.I fell in depression I was cutting at times I would starve myself but I had to be strong not only for my dad but for my sister also "what you doing" my dad said walking up to me "ugh... nothing just checking on her" I said before getting a text from kentrel saying that he wanted to see me outside real quick "dad kentrel's outside talk later" be shook his bead yeah and I left "hey thought you bailed on me for a sec" I said getting in car "nah I would never bail on my favorite person in the world now would I" he said backing out of the drive through I could tell something was bothering him cause his phone going off like crazy "want me to answer" I went to grab his phone but instead he took my hand into to his and looked at me and said "nah I'll check later'' I just said ok and looked forward while he was driving five minutes into the drive and we arrived to an abandon building for a minute I thought he was going to kill me "are you going to kill me" I said in a serious but playful tone he burst out laughing and had the nerve to say "nah.... If I wanted to kill you, we wouldn't be here'' he said walking in front of me I looked at him as if he really ain't say that ''I'm just kidding I would never hurt you now come on'' he said I looked around and decided to follow him. It was dark until I got further there was a little table with roses on them not just roses but they where pink, pink is my favorite color because my mother would always buy things that were pink I remember so in dedication I started to say my favorite color was pink I turned around with almost tears in my eyes but before I could say anything kentrel had a box "kentrel what is this'' happy friend anniversary'' he said opening the box with both are initials on it QK it was corny but cute "kentrel you didn't have to do this'' I was full blown crying now'' then I saw the picture of us growing up together on the table ''just wanted to show you that I appreciate you mamas'' he was holding me while i was looking at the picture then one stood out it was a picture me, kentrel, kentrel parents, my dad...... and my mom I took the picture in my hand and scanned over it I remember that day it was the day she and my dad found out they where having lay. Times like this kentrel made me feel special he did things that made you feel like you was the only one he cared about, I turned to him and hugged him and like always he picked me up and kissed my forehead ''OH MY GOSH KENTREL I DIDN'T EVEN GET YOU ANYTHING'' I said he stopped me and said ''you did get me something'' he paused and before he could even finish his phone rang he looked at it and rolled his eyes in annoyance ''hold up I'll right back'' I shook my head ok and he left, I steadied walked around looking at his dedication and hard work that he put in. Me being the nosy person I am I went to find him I heard yelling coming from one direction and I went over to see what was going on ''tell big john I'm coming in a minute I'm taking care of something important'' he said before hanging up I had quietly ran back to where I was and acted as if I ain't him say big john. Big John was one of the biggest drug dealer,yeah he was old but he was caught up on  the things today how could kentrel work this man he was ruthless he would you and your family with a blink of an eye just because he wanted to ''hey you ready to go home'' he said with a small smile on his face ''ugh yeah'' I said hopping off the little table. After driving me home  he did his usual walk me to my door and kiss my forehead and would leave. I opened my door and saw my the and lay on the couch knocked out I smiled a little bit I went over there and picked up lay and carried her to bed tucking her in and went back over to my dad and took the cover that was sitting on the floor and  I put it over him and kissed his kiss and told him goodnight. I got in my room and locked the  door behind me and started to undress, I was in bed thinking about what just happen I care for kentrel but he can't be that stupid for still working for him just laying there a text came in on my phone saying ''wassup this Jayden'' I looked at the text for awhile before texting him back ''hey...umm how did you get my number'' I texted back ''through practice I asked kentrel since he's your bestfriend'' I just looked at it and didn't respond if he wanted me number he could've just asked me but instead he go to kentrel and asked before putting my phone down, kentrel texted me telling me goodnight with heart and kissing emojis I laughed and ignored it all of a sudden I hear a knock on my window I looked up to kentrel with his phone facing me ''you seen my text, now reply'' I just started to laugh at him I got up and opened my window '' your such a stalker'' I said moving out the way so he come in ''oh shut up you love my stalk-ish ways'' he plopping on my bed ''yeah your right'' I said on the other side of him ''so I was thinking you should try out for the cheer team'' he said now on his phone ''what'' I said looking at him as if his lost mind ''I mean it'll be fun having my bestfriend cheer for me, GO KEN GO KEN'' he said doing a little cheer with what he said ''you have your girlfriend who is captain you don't need me'' I said getting ready to text Jayden back he mumbled something but I couldn't make out what he said ''I mean I want you to do it plus I'm tired of Mya she's getting aggravating now'' I mean damn she been that the heck you see in her oh I forgot her ass and her face don't get me wrong mya was pretty and she knew it to ''I'll think about'' I said reaching for my charger so I can plug up my phone ''good... turn back around I want to spoon'' I turned and look to see him taking off his shirt and climbing in bed next to me and we where now spooning I'm not weird but I like the way he smell I could stay in bed and smell him all day but I can't. I found myself drifting in sleep as he was holding me the funny thing is every morning we wake up he is always on the floor but hey I'm a wild sleeper ''night queen'' he kissing my forehead ''night kentrel'' I said going to sleep.

I wake up hearing Kelly Rowland motivation being played in the bathroom  while the shower water was running I roll over to check my phone I had three missed called and twelve text messages from Mya asking me why I wasn't texting her I ignored it and looked at the text from big john saying to meet him in the afternoon at five o'clock I texted back saying ok. I looked up and saw queen coming out of the bathroom with a towel wrapped around her I ain't gonna lie at times I would think queen was sexy she was cute to me I mean growing up with someone almost your whole life you tend to catch feeling but I knew she wouldn't want to go in that direction don't get me wrong I love her to death and if someone even think about touching her or hurting her I'll kill them in a blink of an eye ''hey your up I see'' she said going straight to her closet ''ugh yeah... where you going'' I said ''Jayden invited to his celebration for being captain again'' she said coming back out with a sun dress on that fitted perfectly on her body queen didn't have a body but she had the body some girls wanted she was skinny she had a little butt, but it was big Ina certain way her boobs where small but they fitted her good and she was beautiful with and without make up now Mya on the other hand..... I don't know what I saw, mya was a quick fuck but at some point we ended up going out ''oh...I'll be there'' I said getting up going to the bathroom '' I mean the whole team is going...it's friends and family'' she said ''I know hey I'm fin a go get ready see you later'' I said leaving ''ok''. After leaving I walk in and see my dad making breakfast ''do she ever get tired of you'' he said laughing ''nahhh she'll never get sick of me'' I said sitting down laughing a little ''aye I'm going to be gone for a couple of days think you an handle it here'' he said looking at me. My dad was a business man funny right how can he be a business man but lice in the hood well he grew up here in fact me and queen family grew up her so I feel like he would never leave ''yeah I'm getting ready to go to Jayden celebration party...you know since he's captain and all'' I said shaking my head I was literally the best player but with me not wanting that big responsibility I said no ''you could've been captain but nah co captain is the way'' I just ignored that comment and kept walking my dad thought it was stupid but I didn't care. I took a shower and got dress I left getting in my care and telling queen I'll be there in a minute so come outside after that I pulled off thinking about everything I was really going to a nigga party that one I don't even fuck with him like that two he want my bestfriend and three that he actually can play basketball I just shook my head laughing. I pulled up to queen house and she was coming out I got out and got on the other side of the car and opened it for her ''well thank you'' she said ''no problem'' I said getting back in and leaving it was quiet for a second before she said anything ''so you gave Jayden my number'' she said not looking up from her phone ''I'm sorry I can tell him to stop texting you if you want me to'' I said looking at her ''no it's fine I was just playing'' I could tell she was lying she was a terrible lire ''ok''. We pull up to his house and got out to help queen get out also, we walk in a whole bunch of people where just looking at us well whole bunch of bitches where looking at me and a whole bunch of niggas where looking at I wanted to snap but where not together ''AYYEE WELCOME TO THE PARTY'' Jayden said nigga this not even a party it look like a meet and greet my dude ''yeah we couldn't miss it'' queen said with the most phoniest smile ever I wanted laugh cause she didn't want to come to boring shit ''yeah couldn't miss it'' I said avoiding eye contact and checking my phone  he was about to grab queen hand but I was quick ''queen look at the pool'' I said grabbing her carrying her away from that idiot ''oh ok'' she said trying to keep up with my fast pace ''KENTREL'' was all I heard before taking the biggest sigh of my life. I heard queen laugh and I turned to look at her with a mean mug I could tell queen was now noticing that Mya was aggravating me at this point ''Babe you didn't see my text'' she said coming up to me ''nah'' I said without emotion ''she looked down to see my hand locked with queen, queen didn't even care she was so busy scrolling through Instagram she wasn't paying attention to mya ''SO YOU WITH THIS BITCH NOW HUH I KNEW YALL WHERE TOGETHER ON THE LOW'' she said getting all loud I was now starting to get a headache I felt queen let go of my hand and walk away ''YEAH BITCH YOU BETTER LEAVE SCARY ASS HOE'' she said queen was like a classy ratchet she never did like all that drama but people never fucked with her on that level because queen was never the one to be tucked with.... Queen's crazy and when I saw her stop in her track and turn around I knew she was going off ''listen here bitch I'm not the one you wanna mess with it's not my fault that you're the one passing your trash ass pussy around the school I forgot how many where there again of the whole football team'' she said getting in her face I could tell mya was angry but the level queen was on I knew she was going  to be mad at me especially queen hated  to be embarrassed in public and for a girl she hated make a scene like that and say the stuff she said I knew she would kill me ''aye mya you got to go man you making a scene bruh'' Jayden said I really wanna punch him in his shit cause he did this on purpose he knew I was going to break up with mya but instead he did this mya just turned around and left I looked around to see queen going outside on her phone so I followed her ''dad can you pick me up I'm not feeling good'' she said ''queen'' I said in a concern tone '' I'm going to call you back'' she said hanging up the phone ''queen I'm sorry I didn't know she was going....'' she cut me off raising her hand in my face ''kentrel you know I hate shit like that and you just stood there dumb founded I don't know what's been going on lately but it's like something bothering you and for some reason you cant tell me but I've been here for you since we where kids but no in fact kentrel take me home'' she said laughing a little ''queen'' was the only thing I could say I know she's mad but I didn't know she was going to be here If I did I wouldn't have came at all she opened the door and got in all I did was sigh and started to drive her no words where exchanged when I pulled up to her house before I could even say anything she got out and slammed the car door I wanted to go after her but big john was calling I answered thinking about how I'm going to make it up to queen ''aye young blood I got something I need you to do for me'' he said before hanging up. 15 minutes in driving I finally put pulled up the trap I got out I started making my way in the first thing that hit my nose was weed and all I saw was naked bitches either trying to get dick or actually working one of the hoes I used to fuck with was still when I meant Bianca I was starting to trap she was cool but I wasn't ready for a relationship in fact I was in love with queen then ''hey Ken"' she said coming up to me ''wassup B'' I said giving her light smile don't get me wrong Bianco wasn't hoe she was sweet and caring and I found that attractive in her ''hey there's a party tonight you should come'' she said ''I'll think about it'' I said entering boss man room ''aye you called'' I said sitting down ''yeah...so I've been thinking a teen like with so much potential why are you in this shit'' he said I mean I've been doing this since 10th grade and you could say I did good at what I did ''I do this to help my dad and me'' was all I said he shook his head before giving me fifty-thousand stacks ''go spend it on ya girl tell her to give me a call'' he said before laughing I had a deadly stare on face showing that it wasn't funny I don't play like that ''it was a joke kid take it easy'' he said leaning back in his chair I left not even gonna go back and forth with him when I started the game big J was getting to know me and with that I never told him about queen only about my dad and the issue with my mom but one walking home big J some me and queen walking home he didn't say anything and when he brought her up in one our conversation I had automatically shut it down after he would make little jokes but he knew she meant something to me. Driving home I had to think I knee wasn't going to talk to me and I had to find a way so I had walked to her room window and tried to get and not to my surprise it was locked did this every time she didn't want to be bothered with me and like always I would break in I took my screw out of my pocket found a way to open the window and to my success it opened I opened it wide enough to get in and when I did she was laying down sleep I closed the window and tiptoed on the other side of the bed and got it and right when I got in she was up ''what are you doing kentrel'' she said with aggravation lace through her voice ''man queen don't be like bruh I'm sorry you have to believe me I didn't know she was going to cause a scene and go off on you'' I said she just looked at me ''are y'all done'' she asked sitting up now ''of course I'm done with mya I was going to break up with her anyway'' I said looking in to her eyes so she'll know I wasn't  lying ''ok'' she said shrugging and laying back down this girl was bipolar I know she crazy but she bipolar for real I laughed and laid back down and we were sleep in minutes.
