Absorbed in playing this online game in front of my desktop, I didn't notice that it was almost midnight.
A silent knock from the door interrupted me from my business.
" Come in." I uttered and swiveled my chair.
Looking aroused from a deep sleep, my mom showed up in my room. " Gregg. Anong oras na, computer ka pa rin ng computer." She mumbled in a hoarse voice as she gently scratched the side of her favorite pajama.
I laughed a bit because of her appearance. She looks like a risen zombie ready to hunt brains for her midnight snack.
" Matutulog na rin ako Ma. Just go back to your sleep dahil halatang antok na antok ka pa." I said and turned off my computer. I guess I will just continue it tomorrow.
" Ayan na ma ha." I added and she just gave me a slight nod as if she's pleased with what I did.
She was about to close the door when she turned her gaze at me once more. "Ay. Tinext pala ako ni Angel kanina. Ang dami daw nyang chat sayo but she didn't receive any reply." Those were the last words she said before totally closing the door.
I immediately throwed myself on the bed and reached my phone from the side table. As I opened my messenger, countless chats from my girlfriend popped up.
' Gregg. Busy ka?'
' Uy. I just want to talk to you.'
' Busy ka ata.'
' Okay good night love. Don't forget me okay. Loveyah.'
Those were just some of her messages that she sent continuously.
Being guilty with what I did, I first sent a heart sticker and typed ' Love. Sorry. Hindi kasi ako nag online. Bakit naman kita kakalimutan. Ikaw talaga. Good night. I love you too.'
--"Gregg. Busy ka?" Her sweet angelic voice filled her condo.
I took a glimpse at her for awhile who's currently doing some sort of arts because of piles of colored papers, pens and art materials that are on the floor. " Why?" I asked back and continue with what I'm playing on my phone.
" Nothing. Gusto lang kitang kausapin."
" We're already talking Angel." I heard an audible sigh from her and I saw on my peripheral vision that she quickly stand up holding her chest and went straight to her room.
I just shrugged my shoulder and didn't bother to follow her. I'm already used to Angel. For one and a half year that we're together, I noticed that she's quite emotional. She's walking out from time to time for some reasons but since I know that there's nothing wrong with her, I just keep on being immersed with my gadgets.
I hurriedly put my phone down and stand up from the sofa when Angel's mom entered the condo.
" Hello po tita." I said and gently grabbed her hand and touched it on my forehead.
She smiled and quickly scanned the area. "Where's my daughter?"
"Pumasok po bigla sa room niya tita e." I saw how her eyebrows twitched and moved her feet going to Angel's room.
" Sige na Gregg. Makakauwi ka na sa inyo." I scratched my temple with my finger and slowly nodded. I'm planning to stay here for longer time actually, but since her mom told me to go home, I have no choice.
As I step into my room, I sat on my swivel chair and turned on my desktop. Now is the time to continue the game that was postponed because of my mom's interruption last night.
