SA UNA LANG

"Love, can you please spit that bubblegum out from your mouth?" Naiiritang utos ko sa kaniya pero imbes na sumunod, pinalobo niya pa 'yon sa harap ko saka muling ibinalik sa bibig niya. Kadiri!

"Stop fooling around. I'm serious." I sternly added. As he noticed that I'm not in the mood with his silly acts, he rapidly spit it out to the nearest trash bin.

"Oh 'yan na love ha, wala na oh," he said and stick out his tongue as a proof.

I giggled and slightly pushed his side. "Baliw."

"Baliw sayo." I know it sounded corny but it still made my heartbeat moved frantically as if I'm in a rollercoaster.

Thony, my boyfriend, is really a sweet guy. Lahat na lang nga ata nang sasabihin at gagawin ko ay may banat siya na talagang magpapakilig sa akin – that was his best asset.

He clung his arms on my shoulders and mischievously smiled at me. "Ang puso, baka hindi kayanin, love." He teased.

"Loko."

"Pero hinding-hindi magloloko."

His words rang in my head unstoppably as I remembered the moments I had with him.

"Hindi pala magloloko." I mumbled to myself, bitterly.

He shouldn't have said that if he would still make it in the end.

I thought he would be my last but it seemed like I was his last before finding the right girl for him.

"Uy! Tama na ang kakaisip sa hindi ka naman iniisip." I suddenly brought back to my senses when I heard my bestfriend's voice beside me.

"Pardon?"

Instead of repeating what she stated, she handed me a bubblegum – the same with what he always savoring.

I got it from her hand and as I stared on its wrap, memories of us transported back instantly.

"We're like this." I said in a hollow voice and sighed heavily.

"Ano namang koneksiyon niyong dalawa diyan?"

I anxiously smiled at her. "Sa una, hindi ba't ang tamis ng aming pagsasama pero habang tumatagal, unti-unti na pala itong tumatabang. Siguro napagod na siya kaya niluwa niya na at saka na lang ako tuluyang iniwan" I stared on it one last time before handling it back to her. "Kagaya niyan– kagaya lang ng bubblegum ang naging relasyon naming dalawa."
