Maybe sometimes I can think that life goes my way, but obviously, it's thrown back soon after.
"And this is Ophelia," Billie smiled as he introduced me to his new girlfriend. "But everyone calls her Phee, Phee this is Ella."
She looked at me closely for a second. "Hmm." She said.
"Hi to you too," I mumbled as I crossed my arms. She sat down at the dinner table since it was dinner at school. I sat between Tre and mike.
"I don't think she likes you," Tre whispered over to me. I giggled slightly before leaning over to him.
"Yeah, I don't think so too,"
"She's staring at you,"
"She is?" I whispered back as I diverted my eyes over the table to see in fact she was. Like she was plotting to kill me, I wanted to say something, but I know that would start something. And I didn't want to cause trouble for Billie.
I tried so hard to bite my tongue. To not say anything to her, but she just stared and stared.
"Isn't that right Ella?" Billie asked her smiling, we both zoned back in from our staring match as she looked over at him.
Her eyes flickered for a second in panic. None of us knew what Billie had been saying- it could have been anything. "Erm... yeah?" she laughed nervously.
"Do you even know what I was on about?"
"Course I do,"
"What then?" I interrupted, jumping at the chance to catch this bitch out. Billie looked at me warningly, but then looked at her as he waited for her to answer.
Turning her nose up at me, she avoided the questions "Sorry were you listening?"
"I didn't have to," I shrugged, "he wasn't talking to me."
"Actually I was talking to both of you..." Billie stated, somewhat annoyed.
"Shit," I cussed, stomach turning as I heard Mike chuckle beside me.
"Anyway, I was explaining how you're in my science class." He repeated.
"Ohhh!" She laughed obnoxiously. "Yeah, I am."
I hated her already. The way her bright blue eyes pierced into mine. Why did she have to stare at me so much?
The conversation carried on as I felt her eyes on me once again, and we were caught in a staring match. I flicked up one eyebrow and she furrowed hers annoyed.
She then looked away as she whispered something into Billie Joe's left ear. Billie nodded to her and whispered something back before he went back to the conversation as she smiled satisfied with whatever it was they both said.
After dinner had passed, I and Billie began to walk down the halls of school to our last class. We had art together.
"What do you think of Ella?" He asked me randomly changing the subject from our original conversation.
"What do you think I think of Ella."
"You don't like her do you,"
"No. I mean- you should have seen the way she stared at me!"
"She told me. She said you were giving her gross looks across the table."
I stopped walking as I paused and he stopped too after he noticed I had and looked at me. "What?" I asked. "She started it!"
"Why do you always seem to have a problem with the girls I'm with?"
"Because you pick the snobby ones." I scoffed as we carried on walking. We walked into our art class carrying on the conversation as we sat at our table, where Mike was. Tre didn't take art, he dropped it.
