I looked down with the red cup in my hand filled with beer, I was in a house party trying to find Billie who I seemed to have lost somewhere along the lines of grabbing myself a drink.
I dodged past the people dancing, checked in the kitchen. Looked around he wasn't there. Checking everywhere downstairs before dodging two people sharing saliva to get to the stairs. I walked up slowly, I wasn't drunk. Heck, I wasn't even tipsy. I really just wasn't in the mood to get hammered tonight. I reached the top of the stairs looking down at the floor as I walked down the hallway before I felt my body collide with someone else as I quickly looked up.
I glanced up to see a boy looking down at his shirt. His hair was dark brown and basically a mop on the top of his head. But I think it was sort of cute in an odd way.
"Dude?" He said looking down at his black polo shirt which I had seemed to of spilt my drink on before he looked up to see me. His deep brown eyes meeting mine. In this light, they looked black. "Oh shit, I'm sorry- I was in your way."
"No," I quickly shook my head. "I should've been looking where I was going. I'm sorry I spilt my drink on you." I apologised.
"You don't seem drunk?"
"...Neither do you."
"I'm guessing you're not having much fun then?" He smirked as he crossed his arms waiting for me to answer.
"I guess I'm not, why aren't you?"
"Me either. I got dragged here by a friend. But now they've gone somewhere." He told me. "I'm Miles."
"I'm Ophelia, but everyone calls me Phee,"
"Well Phee, it was a pleasure to meet you... and have you spill your drink all down me," he laughed looking down at his shirt.
"I'm really sorry about that," I apologised again. "I was zoned out I hadn't even realised until-"
"-Hey hey, don't sweat it. It's cool," he shrugged. I smiled lightly feeling a little better about spilling beer all over him. His teeth seemed so perfectly aligned. Unlike Billies crooked grin.
"Phee!" A voice shouted behind me. I turned around to see Billie who leaned against me obviously drunk. "Where have you been!"
"Billie you stink of alcohol," I told him squinting my eyes. "How much have you had?"
"A lot a lot."
I sighed as I looked back at Miles who laugh lightly.
"Is that your boyfriend?" He asked me.
"Oh no, no no no not at all," I quickly denied. "He's erm- he's more like family."
"Family?" Billie slurred. "You've never referred to me as-"
"-Go find mike. He's downstairs looking for you." I butted in.
"But I'm having fun!" He whined as he tried to stand back up. Wobbling a little.
"Billie go and find mike."
"Fine," he pouted. "You're boring." He told me before making his way down the stairs as I laughed nervously looking back at miles.
"I'm sorry about that too,"
"Stop apologising," he laughed.
"God I've made quite the first impression,"
"Well I think you seem pretty cool," he shrugged. I looked at him sort of surprised.
"Really?"
"Yeah,"
"Well I should probably go and help my friends out with him," I laughed pointing down the stairs. He nodded.
