"And the nightmare begins," I muttered while Billie opened the door to his house, I followed behind him as we walked though and into the kitchen spotting Ollie who was at the sink washing some pots with some bright yellow gloves and what not.
"Hey mom," Billie casually greeted as he walked over and leaned on the side next to the sink, crossing one leg over the other with his hands on the edge of the counter top looking at her with a grin.
"Who did you come in with? I heard two voices?" She asked confused before she turned around and looked, her head stopping as she saw me and let out a little laugh. "Oh it's you, hi Phee,"
"Hi Ollie,"
"What are you both doing here anyway?" She turned to look back at Billie who was trying to contain his excitement from shocking his mom and giving her the news she said she had wished for.
"Well..." He edged on, his smile growing as he spoke. "We have some news,"
I loved how excited Billie was to announce it to his mom. Don't get me wrong. I wasn't embarrassed of being with Billie either. But I was terrified. I asked Billie if we really needed to tell them. He replied with 'What and have them find out when they get an invite to our wedding one day?' Which made me forget topics since I found it slightly adorable he planned on actually staying with me and hoping for a future. Then he used my distracted 'Awe' moment to open the door. Leaving us here.
"We?" Ollie asked confused.
I walked over to them and awkwardly stood next to Billie as she placed back the plate she was mid way through cleaning back into the soapy water floating in the sink and looked over at us. Confused and some what intrigued.
"Yeah... we I guess," I added unsurely.
"Well don't keep me waiting, what is it! Is it good?"
"Depends how you take it," I shrugged as Billie elbowed me.
"Don't be stupid Phee you'll worry her, yes mom it's good,"
"Well...? What is it!"
I looked up and over at Billie knowing he wanted to tell her, plus I don't think I could've said it first or even came out with it if I or he wanted.
"Me and Phee..." He began. His smile soonly fading as I saw the nerves kick into is system. Realizing how scary it actually might be telling your mom you're with her best friends daughter that they've grown up together like best friends themselves their whole entire life and even sometimes been mistaken for as brother and sisters or even worse, nonidentical twins.
"Yes?" Ollie rushed him impatiently. "Well? Go on!"
"We're..." He paused not finishing his sentence as Ollie heavily sighed.
"Billie Joe if you're not going to tell me then let me carry on washing these pots, I haven't got time to spare for your jokes," She told him turning back and continuing with the unwashed dishes.
Billie looked at me and shrugged before I dragged him into the dining room.
"What was that about big shot?"
"I don't know! Believe me I don't! All of a sudden I just got super nervy and couldn't come out with it," He embarrassingly admitted to me.
I pouted laughing slightly at his sad face as I quickly kissed him. "You seemed so confident," I frowned pitifully.
He put his hands around my waist resting them there as my arms went over his shoulder. We carefully swayed left to right as we continued to talk.
"I was... y'know? I was really looking forward to watching her be all like 'what! Oh my God!'," he mimicked a female voice that was supposedly suppose to be his mom's as his went high pitch. "But I couldn't get the words out. I just suddenly in a second understood why you was so scared and- and I just- I couldn't do it,"
