I am bound by chains of gold,
To my fate.
An edifice of darkness hovers above.
Yet amid the dark,
I see a spark of light.
Alas, I cannot reach it,
For these chains of gold
Know not that I am suffering.
I scream and I thrust,
A plea is heard in the heavens,
Melt away, oh Lord, these chains of gold.
As promised here it is. The second version of Chains of Gold.
Fun fact: it was Clare's "Chain of Gold" that inspired me to write poetry in the first place. So y'all know how new I am to this.
You see how in the previous version, the chains were of inner darkness and here they are of fate. That's what I meant. TOO MANY CHAINS!!
