Cupid's Arrow 💘

It's magical at first the love we find.
This arrow to my heart renders it blind.
Tell the son of Venus I never thought to find.
This arrow he has etched in my heart, in my mind.
What is the purpose of this infatuation he has lent in kinds.
I see not my lover for a hundred miles.
So do I await his arrival with longing tears in my eyes.
He promised a world with a lady of rosy cheeks who shies.
Here I sit on this ground with a heavy heart and an arrow coated with lies.
Causing me this pain, oh look! Away Venus's son flies.
He leaves me not alone, a pen in my hand. "Oh what purpose thine?"
In the clouds he winks and bids me this tale to write.
