Somewhere an old man dies
And a child is born
Mellifluous is the sound of his cries
To the ears of his mother
It's the start of a new life
An year later the child exclaims
Ah look! it's a butterfly
The wind blowing carries the butterfly to the sea...
How does it feel to know I'm so close? The distance between our cities lost.
In hopes of seeing you I've left the coast. The waves demand I stay back at the shore.
Their command I defy in your love, mi amor. The ghost of your touch is only my imagination I feel in my soul's core.
Meet you in this rain, to your city I've been lured. These green fields have pulled me in and they want more, Of the kisses we share that they witness and as secrets they hoard.
Why do I write of us when, you, I have never had to have lost? Now you say you will leave and make what little we had into ghosts.
Go! to never think of you again I make this promise I will keep most. In these words our love resides that I will write of you forevermore.
