Somewhere an old man dies
And a child is born
Mellifluous is the sound of his cries
To the ears of his mother
It's the start of a new life
An year later the child exclaims
Ah look! it's a butterfly
The wind blowing carries the butterfly to the sea...
Long forgotten is the silk You lay on the uneven patches Of my skin, yet her face When I look at, brings a fire Rumbling within my eyes, a storm Threatening to destroy the Calm waters I hold dear.
Remember, when, it was only Us. You and I. Separated by The cruel workings of the clock That ticks by. I am alone now. I am gold melted to burn The depths of unkind souls. I am gold, hardened to stone.
I am ash, put together... steel.

Hey y'all it's been a while!
So guess what? I'm doing A level literature and that made me sort of familiar with the different kinds of poems and I wrote one that's kind of like a sonnet cause it has 15 lines and a sonnet has 14 lines. The reason this has 15 lines is because instead of being a love poem, this is about heartbreak. Now you might be wondering why I'm telling y'all this. It's because I'm excited. Alright. I love that I wrote this poem🥳 I hope y'all enjoy it.
Have a great day
