Sit still, my soul.
This storm has for too long ruled you.
Embrace the calm as it breaks it,
Breaks the storm to an era anew.

Where the dark clouds part to reveal skies of blue.
Sunshine bright reflecting on morning dew.
The wind plays melodies the flowers debut.

When the storm calms I will know you grew,
Past their doubts and their lies most untrue.
They talk as is their right to do.
Turn away and remember it's untrue, untrue, untrue.

I hold only the joys of life as this day I walk into.
Worry not, you trail behind though your schemes I outgrew.
Unpleasant as your lies may be, today I turn eighteen and must carry myself whole.

Sit still, my soul.
Breathe the air of truth,
Where their lies flow with a mist of sweet pink.
As the days go by the value of you shrinks and shrinks.

Your dark shadows break to reveal my blessed golden heart and it blinks.
The wine of forgiveness and love I drink.
To never betray my true self I promise.

On the grass of peace I now walk with bare feet.
Treading lightly in the forest of timely meet.
Where with time I shall encounter your false heat.
Worry not I remember the promise I made not to sink.

Your lies as unpleasant as they may be,
They keep me afloat in the unforgiving sea,
Eighteen I turn and must carry myself whole.
