Cruel Summer 🌻

Early in the summer,
Do you remember that car ride?
We drove through yellow colors,
The trees so green,
The sky so bright.

Let's go back for a moment.
I smile as you speak.
We laugh on a joke I tell.
On the dashboard, my feet.
You glance towards me a glint in your eye,
Brief and sweet.
"Eyes on the road", I say on repeat.
Because that's who we are, we make fun of each other, we fight.
With you I feel free.

What a shame that day couldn't last.
I still remember your promise of one more time.
Tonight I pray that time comes soon
As I close my eyes and sleep.

I wrote this reminiscing about this road trip I had with my family back in 2018 and we can't do it again because of the virus 😫💔

This one is dedicated to swiftshadow30 for obvious reasons 😆 Thank you for all the support, I love you 😘💕

I hope you guys like it because honestly it kind of made me tear up a bit.
