Past-Future

What do you think about past?

For me, past is past.

If I am asked, the past is not worth chasing.

But, what if you were trapped in your past? What do you do if the past chases you? What would you do if the past always chased you? What do you do if someone reminds you of your past? My answer is-

"Maam, you have meeting this evening." my secretary was alert when I entered the building.

I looked at her and nodded and walk into the elevator, she followed and stood beside me.

"What is my schedule today?" I asked as the elevator closed.

She bent down and opened the paper she was holding.

"Apart from your meeting later, there are none."

I nodded.

"But, there are things you need to sign." she added.

"K. Please bring it to my office." lumabas ako ng elevator at dumeretso papasok sa opisina ko.

Naupo ako sa tapat ng lamesa at sinimulan na ang trabaho.

You all need to do is Avoid. Avoid is the best way, for me. That's what I did, I do rather. My psychiatrist said, I need to bother myself or I just take a vacation but I chose the company to entertain myself.

A lot has happened since I lost my baby. No ones comes to my penthouse because I reject them with their offers to accompany me.

Because I'm not ready yet. I'm not ready to tell what happened.

But...

"Hailey, please. tell me what happened.." my auntie approached me. "I feel useless..." I looked up at her.

Her eyes is grief

No, auntie. You're not.

"I feel like you're moving away from me. I don't even know how you feel. Anak, please, tell me." I clenched my jaw and averted her gaze.

I don't know that's how she feels. I feel wicked.

"Auntie..." I looked up at her and said everything that happened, everything—everything.

I'm still hurt by what happened to him. I've not been to his grave yet because I can't see, I can't see my son buried.

I cried after I told to my auntie what happened, she joined and hugged me.

"I'm sorry, hailey. I didn't know. I'm sorry." she said while stroking my back. "I'm sorry, sorry."

Why she's saying sorry? Is she the one who did it? Isn't it?

"I-I know it's been... f-five years...
but, .. I-I can't get over." I said while sobbing.

"I'm sorry, anak. I'm really sorry."

"Stop saying sorry, auntie. You didn't do it."

I sighed remembring everything and leaned back.

I looked up at the door as it opened.

I smiled and stoop up. "Hi." I greeted and walked and met Tristan.

"Babe." sinalubong niya ako ng yakap at hinawakan ang magkabila kong pisngi, I close my eyes when he kiss my forehead.

"How are you?" tanong niya, inakay ko siya sa nagsisilbing tanggapan ng bisita sa opisina ko at naupo sa couch.

"I'm good." matamis akong ngumiti.
