"Ow!" I yelled hitting my toe on a stool.
I was currently in the kitchen searching for a snack but that stupid stool decided to get in the way.
I groaned as my toe started to throb. My Dad rushed in and nursed my toe.
"Oh hunny, how many times are you going to keep getting hurt by that stool? Just throw it out" I heard mom say.
"But then how will I get to the snacks?" I asked remembering my small height of 5ft3in.
Dad chuckled.
"I wonder where you got your migetness from" he said glancing at mom who was probably just a few inches taller than me.
She rolled her eyes.
"Enough Dave, I'll get the Peroxide, I think I see a cut" she said and walked off, indeed there was a cut that started to bleed.
Dad helped me to the living area and helped me sit on the couch. I didn't know why this was necessary because it was just a cut but he was overdramatic like that.
Come to think about it my whole family was overdramatic...even Andrew my little brother.
Me? I was perfectly normal.
"Ow! Mom! It hurts!" I cried while my mom was putting the Peroxide on the little cut on my toe...okay I'll admit, I was a little dramatic too.
"Oh stop whining, its not even a big cut" mom said brushing me off and I pouted.
My parents had always been the best. They always tried to be there for us and always made time.
But there were some things they couldn't solve.
Some things that were in my heart.
I heard the door unlock and looked to see Andrew trying to sneak in. He looked so surprised and scared at the same time to see mom and dad that I was tempted to let out a big laugh.
I guess he thought they'd be sleeping at midnight.
Andrew was my younger brother, a year younger than me actually. While I was seventeen he was sixteen but he was still my little baby.
"Where are you coming from young man?" Dad calmly asked.
"Uh-ah-um- a friend's?" He asked rather than state.
I couldn't control the laughter any longer.
Andrew glared at me from my seat and I burst out into more giggles.
"That's enough Shana" mom said giving me the calm down face. I stopped.
Andrew had been trying to sneak in and out of the house for years but he was so bad at it. I think he was in his rebellious stage but it was just was not working out.
My face twitched.
"Come here Drew, we need to have a talk," dad said while he sat down on the couch and patted the space next to him.
I took this as my cue to leave and headed to my room.

Once in my room I took my phone from charge and proceeded to check my calls and messages.
0 calls, 0 messages.
Who was I kidding? there was no one to message me.
I sighed and dropped my phone onto the bed.
I wonder what Julia was doing.
I decided to give her a call... I mean, it was only midnight right?
I rang her phone and she picked up on the third ring.
"Bestieeeeeeee!" She shouted into my ear making them bleed...like damn woman.
"Hey Julia, could you keep the volume down? Got a little ear issue over here" I said.
She chuckled, "Sorry, so why did you call?"
"Just wanted to check up on you" I said.
"Awe" she cooed and I could just imagine her face turning red.
I chuckled.
"So you ready for school tomorrow?" I asked rather dull.
"Of course, I can't wait, I heard that a new guy was coming and my is he hot, I saw his pic on Instagram and I drooled... I literally drooled,oh my god I can't wait!" she exclaimed in pure happiness.
"I can't wait either," I smiled to the phone, whenever she was excited I was excited.
"Goodnight Shan, sleep tight" she said and yawned. I laughed.
"Good night Juli, maybe you'll meet your drool guy tomorrow" I teased and hanged up.
I really didn't want tomorrow to come.
School was just so ugh...if you know what I mean.
I drifted off into sleep with those thoughts while I heard a door slam.
