I looked at my outfit in the mirror while I brushed my hair.
I was wearing a knee length blue floral dress with white sandals.
My hair was down as always and I applied some lip gloss.
Today was the dinner with Shane and to say I was nervous was an understatement.
I was fricking dying with nerves.
I exited my room when I heard mom call for me and went into the kitchen where she was preparing dinner.
Roast chicken, mashed potatoes and pasta.
Yum.
"Yes Mom?" I asked.
"Go help Drew set the table, I think he's doing it wrong" she said and I went out.
Turns out Drew did set the table right.
Surprising.
I heard the doorbell ring and went to get it.
"I'll get it!" I shouted.
I opened the door and the sight in front of me took my breath away and left my mouth dry.
Shane was there in a black jeans and a black dress shirt. His hair was cut short and he had a grin on his beautiful face.
He was hot.
Black was definitely his suit.
After ogling Shane and blushing profusely, I looked beside him to see Nara and Raven smiling at me.
"Hi dear, thank you for the invite to dinner" Raven said hugging me.
"No problem, come in" I said stepping aside to let them in.
Shane's hand brushed mine and heat and electricity ran through my body.
What was this?
My mother came to greet them and showed them to the couch.
"Need any help?" Raven asked my mother and she said no but She followed her to the kitchen anyway.
"Nice house"Shane said and I looked at him, my heart stopping.
He was so damn hot.
"Uh-y-yeah... Thanks" I said blushing.
What's wrong with me?
"Can I see your room?" Nara asked and I smiled at her.
"Of course" I said taking her hand and leading her up the stairs.
"Wow" she said looking around.
I noticed that Shane followed us and he was also looking around.
Thank God I cleaned it before they got here.
This was the first time a boy was ever in my room other than Drew.
"Impressive" he said sitting on my bed.
"Dinner!" I heard mom shout before I could reply to him.
We made our way downstairs where mom, dad, Raven and Drew were already seated.
We took our seats and dinner began.
Mom and dad were at the ends of the table.
Nara was facing her mother, I was facing Shane and Drew sat beside me, the chair empty in front of him.
The discussions began.
"What do you plan to do after high school Shane?" My dad asked putting down his fork.
"I like singing so I would like to pursue a singing career but my next option would be an engineer" he said and my dad looked surprised.
"You sing?" He asked still shocked.
"Yes sir" Shane answered grinning.
My dad grinned back, if there was anything he liked it was music and vocals.
The dinner went on and I kept getting glances from everyone.
Drew glanced at me with a smirk on his face.
My dad glanced at me in approval.
Raven and mom glanced at me with mischief.
Nara glanced at me in innocence.
And last but not least...
Shane glanced at me in...longing?
When would this dinner be over?

When the dinner was over and the Larrys' went home my family drilled me about Shane.
My mom was gushing about how cute we would be together.
My dad approved of him but didn't like the idea of me dating and Drew just smirked.
Oh how I wanted to wipe it off his face.
"Andrew, can I have a word?" I heard mom say and I saw Drew's face go pale.
What had he done now?
This brother of mine was trouble.
I went to my room and stripped putting on comfy clothes.
I lay in bed and thought about the events of tonight, my reactions to Shane.
His touch, his looks, his hot body, his dazzling smile, his hair, his beautiful brown eyes.
I liked them.
I liked him.
Holy shit.
Guess I'll have to go with Julia's plan after all to test the waters.
Dangerous waters.
