Chapter 16

"He what?" Julia screeched sitting up on my bed that she was previously sprawled out on.

We were at my house talking about random things when the topic 'Dylan' came up.

Julia decided to come over to my house after school as she would have to come anyway to drop me at Shane's.

"He pecked me on the cheek" I said frowning.

"Why the hell would he do that?" she said thoughtfully, "unless...he likes you!" She exclaimed.

"But why would he like me? Look at me...plus I didn't even know him till a few days ago" I shrugged.

Julia looked at me like I was crazy.

"Who wouldn't like you? You're smart, beautiful and don't forget sexy" she winked at me and I laughed.

"Sure" I said not believing a word she said.

I couldn't.

"Well its true, let's get going" she said dangling her car keys and smirking.

I got up and ran down the stairs not wanting to run into anyone but with my luck I ran into Dad.

Again.

"Where are you off to now?" He asked raising his brow. Shouldn't he be at work?

"I'm going over to Julia's" I said looking hopefully at the door.

"Be back at 9, dinner will be served then" he said walking away from me.

"Okay Dad, thanks!" I shout running out the front door where Julia had already gotten into her car and started it up.

"Ready to see your other man?" She asked smirking and I rolled my eyes again.

"Definitely... Not" I said as she drove off laughing.

"C is next...the note C is right there" Shane said putting my hand on a C note.

My skin was burning up.

Is it hot in here?

"I can't get it no matter how I try" I pout looking at him.

He laughed.

Okay that's hot.

"Okay let's take a break" he said putting down the cover of the piano.

"I'm hungry" I announced and he chuckled and made his way to the kitchen.

"I'll make you something" he said and I followed behind him.

I took a seat at the counter and gazed at him as he made me a sandwich.

"Is there something on my face?" He asked breaking me from my trance.

I blushed.

"Uh, no" I said looking away.

He placed the sandwich in front of me and I dug in immediately.

It was now 8 at night which meant I had about an hour tops.

"Sun or moon?" I heard him ask and I looked at him confused.

"Uh, moon I guess" I said shrugging.

He smiled, "Me too"

I smiled back and finished my sandwich.

"Why don't we hang out in my room until you have to leave?" He asked and I agreed.

I actually liked hanging out with him.

We went into his room and we talked for minutes laughing and getting to know each other.

"I don't think I've ever laughed with someone this hard since..." He stopped himself and looked over at me.

"Since?" I prompted him.

"Since Ciara" he said and I looked at him confused.

"Ciara?"

"She was my best friend" he said not elaborating. I didn't push him.

I instead rested my head on the floor and looked at him.

He was already looking at me.

"What?" I asked touching my face.

"Nothing, its just...you're so beautiful" he said staring at me.

I blushed and sat up.

"Um- thanks...look at the time...I have to go" I said taking out my phone and texting Julia.

I don't take compliments well.

She replied that she was near so she would be here in two minutes tops.

"Well thanks for the lessons Shane" I said smiling at him, my heart beat racing.

I got up to leave but he grabbed my wrist.

"Safe travel" he said showing me his dimples.

He hesitated.

Then...

He pecked me on the cheek.

I think I'm gonna faint.
