Kara's POV
I was currently at the DEO with Alex. We were training. Actually it was more like 'let's beat Kara up for fun!'. So yeah, here I was in a Kryptonite infused room, with Alex beating the ever loving crap outta me.
"Alright that's it. I'm done getting my cape handed to me. I forfeit." Alex raised her hands. "What? You can't quit, Kara. You asked for this." I shook my head as I rubbed my temple. "No, Alex. I didn't. I wanted to help people and make a good use of my powers. Not let you gang up on me just because you can." She gaped at me. "Kara, I'm not ganging up you, I'm trying to help! You can't always rely on your powers to save you. One day, you might actually need to learn how to fight." I sighed. "You're right. Let's continue."
We sparred for about an hour before we both decided to call it quits. "So, how's your friend doing?" I looked at her confused. "Who? What friend?" She tossed me a towel for my sweating. "(Y/n)? The one that had the fever even though he was somehow making the room freezing cold?" I nodded in realization. "Right. Him. Yeah, he's uh doing good. Found out he's not human." She dropped her towel. "What?"
I shrugged. "Yeah, he's a...I don't know how to say it in his language, but he's a frost giant. From....Jötunheim? Yeah that was it." She picked her towel up and faced me. "We need to call him in." I was so lost right now. "What? Why? It's not like he works here." She waved her hands around. "Just call him. Get him here pronto. It's important." I sighed. "Fine. I'll call him later but right now, I want potstickers and pizza."
She relented. "Deal. Let's go." We we're almost out of the DEO facility when Hank approached. "Agent Danvers. Supergirl. How are you?" Alex and I shrugged. "Could be better, could be worse. Is everything alright, Director?" He smiled before continuing. "Everything is just fine. Although I do have something I want the two of you to look into." Alex nodded while I waited silently. "Last night I got a tip from one of my friends in the FBI. Said that there were reports of a glowing individual." My eyes widened. "Uh, Hank Henshaw, sir. That...individual is my friend. (Y/n)." I smiled sheepishly as he faced me. "And when were you going to tell me about your little friend?"
I shrugged. "I didn't think there was any need for me to tell you of his existence." He rubbed his temples. "If this friend of yours is what I think he might be, then we've got a huge problem on our hands." I blinked a few times. "Wait a minute. (Y/n)'s no threat, sir. I can assure you of that. He's not some kind of dangerous criminal." He put his hands up in defense. "I'm not saying that. What I'm trying to say is that if he's not careful he could seriously injure people. Kill them. What we need to do is bring him in and have a talk with him."
I shook my head at this. "No way. I'm not letting you rope him into this. He's had enough drama to last him a lifetime." He put his hand on his chin. "So you know of his past? Where he's from? What he is?" I nodded. "Yeah. What's your point?" He pointed at me. "We need you to bring him here. He trusts you, and we can lure him here and find out more about him." I was thoroughly stumped. I cannot believe they thought I was just gonna hand (Y/n) over. He had every right to remain untouched. "No. I won't do it. I'm not going to help you trap my friend. You want him here? Get him yourself, but don't think I won't tell him you're after him, either."
I walked off and flew home, taking note to fly around the block a few times. I was still a bit upset that Hank would suggest bringing in (Y/n) for questioning, and Alex agreed to it! I mean, I know they only want to ask him questions, but it could lead to a whole lot more than that, and I don't want that for (Y/n). Like I said, he's gone through enough crap, he deserves a break. I do still plan on telling him that the DEO's watching him, but I'll let him make his own decisions.
I know what it feels like to have your decisions made for you and left out of discussions that revolve you. The last thing I want to do is keep (Y/n) in the dark, and damage our friendship. I want him to know that he can trust and count on me, just like I trust and count on him.
