(Y/n)'s POV
I've been sitting in my mindscape for some time now, trying to figure out what was up with this bat. Uncle Thamür said that whatever the metal was infused with, was hindering his senses. He said that the hindrance alone was something to be concerned about because there wasn't any elements on Midgård that affected us in any kind of way. Or so we thought. I was still wondering that if this thing was shielded from uncle Thamür, how in the hell did Mark get his hands on it?
"What if I try freezing it? Would it react in any way?" 'I'm not exactly sure about that. We could most definitely try though.' Fair enough. I took a deep breath and blew all over the bat, freezing it and coating it in a thick layer of ice. You may be wondering how I know about my freeze breath. Well, It happened like this....
                                                           Flashback
I'm so hungry. I wonder what's in the fridge. I make my way to the refrigerator and see that there's still leftover (F/f) from like, two nights ago. I decide to pull that out and put it in the microwave. I set the microwave to 1:30, cuz why not?
The microwave beeps signaling it's done. I walk over and pull the food out and take a deep inhale. "Mmm. Smells goo- goo- ACHOO!" I sneeze from Ymir knows what but as I reach for my food without looking down, it seems stuck. I look down at my food to see that I froze it. I froze my food.
I didn't know whether to be excited that I discovered a new power...
Or to be really fucking mad that I froze my food to the countertop, and now I can't eat it.
                                                              Present
So, yeah, that happened. Fucking timing, am I right? I can breath on things to cool them down, or just simply freeze them. I even made the floor slippery with a thin coat of ice, sort of like a skating rink. It was fun, I guess. What wasn't fun was that I forgot I did it, uncle Thamür didn't warn me, and I slipped.
I held the now frozen bat that looked like an ice club. 'If that's an ice club, are you a caveman?' 'I'm no more of a cave man than you, you old ass.' 'Not funny.' 'So you can dish it out, but you can't take it? Wow.' 'Focus on the bat, simpleton.' I looked at the bat and saw he was right. The bat now had a strange glow to it. Not like mine, but different. Eerie was the word. "What now? Do I melt it? Or....?" 'Smash it.' "Say what? You want to smash the bat we're studying? Are you okay uncle Thamür?" 'Do it.' Okay something was definitely up. Normally he would back up his words but not now. I think he had an urge and was just following it. "Alright. Here...goes...NOTHING!" I smashed the bad on the ground and it smashed to pieces. They weren't small though. They were more like shards the size of daggers. "Holy Hel. What...?" There was some type of substance inside the bat. It was purple and looked like a crystal. It must've been covered by the metal of the bat. "What is it?" I asked as I reached down to touch it. 'Don't!' Uncle Thamür's voice boomed.  "Why not? What's wrong with it? Is it lethal?" 'It's...you mean to tell me that you don't feel that? That-that drain?' I focused. "Woah, I do feel it. What is that?" 'I do not know.' I had this pull towards it. Like...I want to...'Boy, what are you doing? What have you done?!' I looked down at my arm to see that I cut my arm. I thought about doing it, but, I wasn't actually thinking about doing it. Wait, that didn't make any sense... "Th-The shard made me do it. I swear!" 'I believe you....I feel the same pull even though I don't have a physical body.'
I watched the blood drip down my arm. What was this feeling? I feel tired. Drained. Then, it felt like a struggle to stay in my mindscape. 'Your connection to me is wavering, boy. I may not be with you when you wake, so remember this: be alert. Trust nothing. Stay on your p's and q's. Keep your guard up. Do not be afraid. I may not be able to communicate with you, but know that I am still in your mindscape. I will do my best to protect you and uncover abilities.' Then his voice started to fade. 'I love you, my nephew. I am so proud of you and the man you've become.'
I regained consciousness, and was sitting on my bed in my room. I took deep breaths as I just took in what happened. I looked down at my arm to see I was physically unharmed, but I could still feel tired mentally. I guess it only made sense for it to be mental since I did it while in my mindscape. Physically, I felt okay. But mentally, I felt sluggish, exhausted. Maybe I could sleep it off. I laid back and rested my head on my pillow and dozed off.
