(Y/n)'s POV
When I woke up I was laying in a bed again. 'Really? What is it with me and hospital beds?' It looked like the same room I was in the first time. 'So I'm in the same place...where is everyone? Alex? The Martian?' I noticed Maverick wasn't with me either. I whistled, quick, sharp, and high in pitch. In the distance I heard shouts of "No! Down boy!" And "Slow down! No, scratch that where are you going?!" Then I saw Maverick with Alex trailing right behind him. I smiled as I saw him through the glass.

He stopped at the door, 'cause, y'know, he can't open it. But When Alex got to the door, she opened it. "Hey boy! Oof!" I shouted and exclaimed as he slammed into me, excitedly licking my face. "I missed you too, killer." He settled down in my lap as Alex pulled a syringe from behind her back. "How you feeling?" She asked. "I'm not tired anymore. The effects of that...thing wore off. I'm good." She sighed as she looked at the syringe. "Good. That means that this worked, and your dog is oddly intelligent."

She gestured to the syringe and then to Maverick. I smiled. "Yeah. He really is." I said, ruffling his fur. "Wait. What's is that thing?" She tucked it away behind her somewhere as she continued. "Well, for starters, Director Henshaw has a weird expanse of knowledge about your...people? I guess you're a people. Either way, I was able to get a good look at what was in your system, and then compared it to the things that we had. Herbs and whatnot. I found a couple of things that would counteract whatever was going on with you, and boom. You're fixed." She paused for a moment. "We could even recreate the effects, if need be."

I locked eyes with her when she said that. "Alex, what the fuck? Did you have fun?" She smiled. It was downright sinister. "Yes. Yes, I did." 'Never, EVER, am I letting her be anywhere near me when I'm unconscious. No. Hel will be set ablaze before that happens.' Her phone started to ring. I couldn't hear who it was. "He's missing? And you're assuming it was me? Ouch, Kar." Another pause. "It wasn't me." And another. "What if I told you he was safe and in good hands?" She smiled. "No." She rolled her eyes. "Bold of you to assume you have visiting rights..." Then, she cackled. She fucking cackled. "After work. You can come see your boyfriend after work." Then she hung up.

"Alex? Who was that?" She shrugged in nonchalance. "Kara. She suspected I kidnapped you, which I did. She'll be coming to see you after work." I nodded. Oh. Ohh. "Yeah, no. That's...cool." I sat there for a moment. "So, where's your friend? Did he get sick of poking around in my head?" She rolled her eyes yet again. "He's busy. He has a life, you know?" I laughed, loud and hearty. "Oh, does he? And what does that entail? Stealing people identities?" She raised an eyebrow at that. "What are you talking about, exactly? First you called him a Martian, then you suggested that Hank wasn't his real name, and now identity theft? Who is he?"

I shook my head at this. "That's for him to tell you. Though, I do find it odd that you've been working closely with him for how long? And he's keeping all of that from you? Huh, some real sturdy bond you have..." She paled at this. "I'll find out. One way or another." I shrugged. Her phone buzzed with an alert. Her eyes widened. "I'll uh...I'll be back, okay? Sit tight." Then she left the room. I looked down at Maverick. "You're literally the best ever. You know that?" He nuzzled me in response. "How did you know how to help me anyways? I've learned that you are very freaking smart, but, chemistry? Buddy, what the hell?" He made a few noises and didn't say much. "Alright. Keep your secrets."

I decided to take a trip to my mindscape to pass the time. I closed my eyes and let my mind open, and my soul lift itself. When I reopened my eyes, I was back in my mindscape, but this time, there was this....creature there with me. It was a gryphon, like the one my mom had.

He spread his wings and let out a cry

He spread his wings and let out a cry. I felt oddly tied to it, like I've met it before. The thing was ripped like it never skipped any workout day. "Holy....!" I exclaimed as I backed away from it. It reared up at me. "Easy, there! I'm not going to hurt you. How...did you get here?" He lowered himself and looked at me, inspecting me. "You're quite pretty, boy. Y'know that?" He ruffled his feathers and clicked his beak at me. "Ok, ok. Handsome. You're quite handsome."

"I see you've met Argon." Uncle Thamür said. 'So that was his name.' "Hey, uncle Thamür! You're back!" I smiled. I kinda missed him. "That I am. How have you been without me?" About that..."Uhm...pretty good. I've gotten a little more in tune. Some Martian was poking around in my head and I was able to sense it! Cool, right?" The atmosphere kinda shifted at that. "Martian? What Martian? Do you know his name?" I tried my best to quell his unrest. "Easy there, uncle. His name is J'onn. Ring any bells?" He seemed to respond to my calming methods. "It does, in fact. He comes from a tragic past, just as you do." I frowned at this.

"That doesn't excuse his poking around in my head. He should've trusted that I would tell him the truth." He blew a comforting wind at that. "Ask him why he did it. He will show you. J'onn is a man of virtue. Trust him, just as you trust me, boy." I nodded. "Now, who's Argon?" The gryphon in question turned his ear towards me to show he was listening. He was exceptionally...majestic. "You're telling me you don't know?" He asked, and then Argon stood and started clacking his beak again. I could feel his emotions. He was....nervous? Guilty? Of what? "He'll show himself in due time. But until then, you have visitors."

And then he kicked me out of my mindscape.
