Chapter 20

I wake up and see I'm at Luke's cabin. I love this place. It brings so many good memories back. I look next to me and see my beautiful boyfriend next to me. He is still sleeping. Laying on his back. The blanket has moved so his six-pack is showing. I resist my urges for him and step out of bed. I put on his shirt and walk downstairs.  I enter the kitchen and put some bread in the toaster. 'Good morning," I hear someone say. Niall walks in the kitchen and grabs the toast I just made. "Hey, there not yours," I say. "You sure about that?" "Yeah, I made them. I'm hungry so give them." "You know who is also hungry, me. And you know what our main course is right?" "Urgh just take the toast. I will make a new one." Niall grabs my wrist and pulls me to him. He pushes my head to the side and his teeth almost sinking into my veins. "Stop it. I'm not kidding Niall." Luke is sleepy voice beams trough the cabin. "Why? I haven't had a real meal in a long time." "Yeah and that is with a reason. Blood bags are in the fridge." Niall lets go of me and walks away. Luke speeds to me. "Are you okay?" "Yes, I just pissed him off with a toast I think."I laugh when I say it. Luke takes my toast out of the toaster and put them on a plate. "Here are your toast madame." He bows and walks away. I smile and begin making the toasts.

I sit on the couch eating my toast. The tv is on and again there is an animal attack. I hope they get the vampire behind it. My phone rings. I hope it is not my dad. Jenny's name pops up. Why is she calling me? "Hello with Maddie." "Yes, Maddie. I wonder if you want to grab lunch. We have to talk about the situation. Have you figured out yet who is the vampire?" "Yes, No. I guess." "Great, because these killings need to be stopped. If you meet me at Oliver's we can discuss how we kill the bastard." "But Jenny you don't know." "I don't know what? Oh yes, have you figured out what you are." "Yes but.." "Great see you there at twelve." Jenny hangs up the phone. I couldn't finish my sentences. Niall walks in. "So I heard your conversation with the werewolf." "It is not what you think." "Oh yeah sure. You sweet-talked my brother but not me. You are selling us out." "No that's not true." "Oh am I wrong. You were talking to a werewolf. Our number one enemy." "No, you didn't let me finish." "Why would I. You are going to rat us out. Maybe Luke and I should leave. I regret saving your ass in New York." "Why does no one let me finish." "Because you always talk bull and you only am choosing for yourself and the humans, just like your grandmother." "What did you say?" "You heard me." "Yes I did, and maybe I'm going to tell Jenny that you are killing all those innocent people just for you to die of a werewolf bite." "Yeah, that is just a myth." "I saw it happen you know." "Try it. Luke will never forgive you." "Why wouldn't I forgive Maddie?" Luke had interrupted my fight with Niall. "Luke please talk some sense in this girl, she is going to rat us out to the werewolves," Niall says and walks away. 

"What were you talking about?" Luke asks me calmly. I'm irritated. Niall can be such a dick. Now I know who he really is, he is awful. He killed his own brother and makes accusations about me when he doesn't even let me finish. "Maddie, you're not speaking." "I know Luke, I don't want to fight with you so I'm just going to say it." Luke looks at me with a questioning look. "Over three hours I'm meeting Jenny and I'm going to tell her what I am and that you are good vampires." "No, you cannot." "And why not?" "Because they will think that we have killed those people." "Who says Niall didn't?" "I say that because I know that." "Okay, but promise me that Niall will be less irritating around me." "You know I can't promise you that. He always played the nice brother around you but now you know his real story." "Yeah, and I hate him for it." "Be careful." Luke leans forward and kisses me. He pushes me against the couch and kisses a trail from my neck to my belly button. I giggle and pull his face in front of mine and kiss him deeply. I pull at the hem of his t-shirt. He lifts me up from the couch and walks to his room. I know Niall is still in the house but I don't care. I pull Luke his shirt over his head. I fall with my back on the bed and Luke kisses me. 

I hear a small knock on the door. The door opens and Niall comes in. "So it is almost twelve, I think you should get dressed and ready to leave." "Niall can you please leave." Luke laughs at my comment but Niall leaves. I hear him laughing in the hallway. After what Luke and I did I actually have to choose a new outfit. Luke ripped his own T-shirt that I had on. I step out of the bed and take the sheets with me. Luke steps out of bed and grabs the other side of the sheets. "I think they are supposed to stay at the bed." Luke smiles and pulls them off me. I quickly step into the bathroom and take some clothes with me. I take a quick shower and put o the clothes. Guess it is a pair of jeans with a blouse. I walk out of the bathroom and see that Luke lays in bed again. "Serious, can you not stay awake for a minute." I laugh and walk to the door. "Well, some people exhaust me." He laughs at his own comment and sits straight up. "By the way, Niall is driving you. I'm still tired of the long drive from New York to here." "Not my preference but I get it. Take some rest. I will be back." I blow a kiss at him and walk downstairs. 

Niall is very quiet in the car. Maybe he is nervous about what I am discussing with Jenny. We arrive at Oliver's and I see Jenny already at the door. "Bye Niall. Thanks for the ride." "Can your text me when I have to pick you up or do we have to set a curfew." "Niall, please be normal for once and not such a dickhead. I will text you." I step out of the car and walk to the door. "Maddie!" Jenny hugs me and takes me inside. I don't go to Oliver's that ofter but I went there with Jenny a lot. "Okay don't freak out but this is a werewolf bar. Some of them are just traveling but the most are from my pack." Jenny says. "Oh, alright. It's a bit weird." "I know. I would have told you earlier." We take place by one of the tables and order something to drink. "So Maddie tell me, what did you found?" "Alright, I will start with myself. I'm a predictor." When I say it all the werewolves are looking ar me. "Your kidding right," Jenny says but her tone is indecisive. "No, I'm not." "Oh gosh Maddie, you need protection." "I have protection." "Who?" "Niall and Luke." Jenny starts laughing. "Those mortals? No, don't tell me they are.." "Yes they are but they are good. They didn't drink from the veins since they turned back here." "I don't know." "You have to believe me." I grabbed Jenny's hand.

I feel a sort of strength flowing through me. Jenny's eyes are close and her hand into mine. What the hell is happening? All sorts of memories of Luke, Niall, and me are flashing for my eyes. I let go of her hand and watch around me. Everyone is staring at us. "What the hell was that?" Jenny asks. "I don't know." "I just had the feeling I should trust you." Jenny stands up and steps on top of the table. "Today I learned that there are two vampires in Maryville. I also learned we had to keep them alive in order to save this girl here. She is a predictor and needs protection. We need them to keep protecting her and we need to search further for the vampires killing all those humans. The vampires are going to help us but only if we keep our distance, that is was she showed me." Jenny points to me. I look behind me to see if there is another there but no. Jenny jumps off the table and stands next to me. Al the other werewolves are looking the other way or are leaving. "Jenny, is this your pack?" "You mean, am I their alpha." "I guess." "Then yes. I'm from the original Maryville werewolf bloodline. I'm like a royalty." "Cool, but I have to go. If you don't mind." "No, go ahead. I know what I needed to know." Jenny hugs me and I walk out of the bar. I quickly text Niall and wait for him to be here.
