I dial Ethan's number and wait for him to pick up. Please pick up, it's important. The line keeps ringing. I look outside to see off his car is still in front of my house. Probably not because I was reading the book for 20 minutes before I found the most important line not marked. I dial the number again but no response. I grab my book and read the whole paragraph again and nowhere on that page are the words 'a werewolf bite can kill a vampire'. Did I just imagine it? That can't be possible. I was there I saw it, I wrote it down in my notebook. I look in my notebook to make sure I'm not going crazy, it was written with thick, large letters. I knew it. I saw it. I try dialing Ethan again and hope he picks up. "Hello, Maddie why are you calling me?" Finally, Ethan answers my call. "Ethan you have to listen to this. I just read that a werewolf bite can kill a vampire." "Wow, where did you read that? It was always in those myth stories, but I never would have guessed it was true." Ethan says. "That's the weird part about this story. I was reading the history book and I was looking at marked parts but then there was that line a werewolf bite can kill a vampire not marked so I wrote it down in my notebook and now it's gone." "What do you mean with it's gone." "It was in the book then I tried calling you but you didn't pick up so I read the paragraph again and now the sentence is nowhere to be found in the book," I say and Ethan says nothing back. "I know a vampire is strong and fast just like us, but why do we have an advantage," Ethan says. I know the answer because I read it in the book. "Werewolves are from nature and vampires are created with magic. Werewolves are there to make sure that the balance of nature is stable." "You are saying that werewolves are created to kill vampires?" "No, that's not what I said. Werewolves are much older than vampires. Not them but the packs." "Maddie I don't get it. Just write it down in your notebook and we will talk about it in history." Ethan says and hangs up the phone. Great now I have to wait longer to give all my information and find out what the hell I am.

I close my book and walk to the bathroom. I see my dad looking in my room to check if I'm asleep yet. "Dad, why are you checking on me." "I didn't do that. I just wanted to make sure you are home yet." "That sounds like checking up on me" "Sorry Maddie, I'm just worried about you. You were arguing with Luke and then just walked outside and then there was this boy outside my house, I didn't know what to think." "Dad you don't have to worry about me. Now can I go to the bathroom." My dad steps aside and I walk into the bathroom. I grab my make-up remover wipes and take off my make-up. I notice that I am still wearing my dress. The first thing I do when I am home I put on some comfortable clothes. I don't get why I didn't do that after luke left. I unzip my dress and put on my pajama. I pick up my toothbrush and begin brushing my teeth. All of these questions are flying around in my head. The question that pops up in my head the most is, what am I?

I wake up and hear a loud noise. I sit straight up an listen if I hear it again. When I hear it again I walk downstairs. I see a young girl standing in the kitchen. She is beautiful, she has brown hair with very green eyes and a mole just under her eye. She doesn't hear me when I walk towards her. The girl is grabbing all kinds of things out of the kitchen. I watch her when she begins lighting up a candle and putting a paper in it. I stand in front of her and look her into her eyes. She looks at me but says nothing. The paper is still burning. I grab the paper and put the fire out before the fire alarm goes off. The girl is forming a smile on her face. She begins to put everything back at where she found it. "I'm sorry what were you doing, why were you putting a paper on fire," I ask the girl and wait for a response. The girl says nothing and just walks away. I try to follow her but I can't move. "Hey wait, wait for me. I asked you a question." I begin to scream.

I wake up sweaty and my dad holds my arms beside me. He looks at me and sees I am awake. My dad let go of my arms and just stares at me. "Dad you can go now, I am awake. I just had a nightmare I think."I say. My dad listens and begins to walk to the door. My father mumbles something "Why is this happening right now, it's too soon." "what do you mean dad?" My father looks at me. "Nothing, what I said was nothing." My father walks out of my room and closes the door. I feel something sting in my hand. I open it and see the paper I grabbed from the girl in the kitchen. Wait, what. I grabbed a burning paper from my dream and I got it to the real world. What is happening to me. Clearly my dad knows more about it. I open the paper and she some vague words written on it. It is in the French language.

'Vous êtes plus fort que vous ne le pensez, vous pouvez le faire.'

I translate the words. You are stronger than you think, you can do it. What is that supposed to mean? I fold up the paper. Wait did someone send this to me? I walk downstairs and open the drawer that the girl in my dream opened. I see the candle that she used but the only thing different is that this one is brand new. I grab it and also grab some matches. I see my dad watching me from a distance. I ignore it and walk further. I don't know if I should to this at home or outside. It is midnight so inside is probably the best option. What am I even doing? When I am in my room again I close my door and put the candle on my table. I begin to write a little sentence on a small piece of paper. 'Comment puis-je savoir que je suis assez fort quand je ne sais même pas ce que je suis?' It means, how do I know that I am strong enough when I don't even know what I am? I take a match and light it to light the candle. The flame is warm. I pick up the piece of paper and hold it close to the flame. In a second the paper goes up in flames. I watch the flames come closer to my hand. I don't want to burn myself, in an action I throw the paper in the air and ashes fall down on my desk.

I watch the ashes spread over my desk. I grab my small garbage can and put the ashes in there. I leave the candle on my desk so maybe I dream over that girl again. I look at my phone. It is already 5 am in the morning so I don't think it's smart to go to sleep again. I'm actually very tired but I will take a shower and hope I will wake up from that. I take some towels and a cute outfit and step into the shower. The warm water against my body feels very good. I think about why I just burned a paper in my room. All this shit Jenny has told me makes me drive crazy. There is no such thing as werewolves and vampires. The weirdest part is about witches, they all were burned on a pyre in this town. Am I a witch? I can't be. When I step out of the shower I feel a cold gust of wind along my body. I put on my plain white crop top and the cute green mini skirt I picked out earlier. I walk to my desk to see whether there is some kind of paper again. I'm glad when there is none. I pick up the history book and my notebook. I grab my phone from my charger and see that I missed two calls from luke. Why is he calling me so early?
