The five of us have been sitting at the dining table in the cabin for a while now. Nobody has spoken since I suggested killing Christopher. Nobody has come up with a plan yet. I don't know why it is going so slow. I've never wanted to kill someone so badly, yet I don't get any idea how. I slide my notebook back and forth. "What if we ask the wolves, they only have to give him a bite and he will die." Says Olivia. "I'm not working with the wolves." Says Niall. "And why not?" Ask Natalie him. "Well, they are just unreliable and they can kill us too." "Not that anyone would miss you." Luke says teasingly. Niall punches Luke in the gut. The two boys clap each other gently. "Guys!" I scream. Niall and Luke both lookup. "This makes no sense, doesn't it?" Luke returns to the table and Niall follows. "Okay, a plan." I say. Still, no one says anything. "No nobody?" I ask. Natalie and Luke shake their heads and Olivia shrugs. "Good start." I say and I leave my notebook and walk upstairs. It's going too slow. Why don't we come up with a plan? We need Christopher from this village, he's just making trouble. I also feel a lot less safe in my own house when he roams around Maryville. I lie on Luke's bed, many memories here but now I'm not sure if they were 100% real. Probably yes, but I don't really like doubts. The door opens and Luke walks in. He sits down next to me on the bed. "What's the matter?" He asks me. "Nothing, it's just annoying that we can't come up with a plan." "I know." Luke says and he leans forward to give me a kiss. I tilt my head to the side and Luke pulls his head back. "Look, this is why I asked what was there. You always wanted to be with me and now you suddenly act like that. " Luke says. "Sorry, I don't feel very well. Alex spoke quite a bit of fact during our little conversation. " "Don't let her drive you crazy." "I know but this is different." "What is it?" "I don't want to talk about it until I've figured it out." I say and I get Luke's T-shirt. I go to the bathroom and change and brush my teeth. I have absolutely no appetite. I put my hair in a ponytail and take off my make-up. Yesterday I slept quite a bit, but my face still looks tired. My face has looked like this since the summer holidays. Tired but still happy. Unfortunately, the happy aspect of my face has left me today. My appearance is dull. I walk to the bedroom and lie in the bed and wrap myself in the blankets. Luke went downstairs again when I was in the bathroom. Olivia enters my room very quietly. "Hey, are you asleep yet?" She asks softly. "Nope, I just lie in here." I answer. "Okay, tell me. What is it? Luke said you were a little absent." "Okay, you promise not to say anything to Luke?" "Sure, but then I'll turn on some music, otherwise he might eavesdrop on us." Olivia picks up her phone and a happy song plays. "Ever since I talked to Alex, I think about the things she said, about never telling her what was going on. I kind of left her. She also tried to convince me to tell her I was a predictor, although she already knew that, she wanted to test my loyalty. I chose my secret over the loyalty so she got mad. This got me thinking, Luke was doing this for a long time too, really since we've been in a relationship. He probably would have never told me he was a vampire, and I get that, but he just knew what I was and he kept it a secret. You're not lying about someone else's identity, are you?" I say and I am completely out of breath. It remains a good feeling to tell someone. I don't dare to tell Luke himself, but that day will come. "Wow, that's quite a lot, not lighthearted or anything." Olivia says. "I know." "Maybe you should follow your feelings, after all, you are a predictor." She says. "You are the second to say it. My feeling is therefore not certain. I still love him but he did lie about something that is quite important to me." "I get it, you know, otherwise you will sleep on it and we'll see tomorrow." I give Olivia a hug and lie down. Olivia leaves the room and closes the door. I close my eyes and fall asleep pretty quickly.
...
I wake up to the smell this cabin has. It is mostly forest and it smells wonderful. Luke is next to me and has his arm around me. Still, it feels safe when I'm with him, I don't really have anyone else that it feels so strong with. I get out of bed and quickly walk to the bathroom. It's already ten o'clock. I'm not going to pass my classes anymore. I've already missed so much from this year. I undress and take a quick cold shower. I look in the mirror and see my face looking pretty okay for the first time in ages. Still tired but a bit better. I get dressed again and walk downstairs for breakfast. Olivia is already sitting on the couch with a bowl of cornflakes and the television is on. I also make myself a bowl of cornflakes and sit down next to her. "Are you okay?" She asks. "Yes, I feel a bit better than yesterday," I say. "By the way, I told Luke that the conversation with Alex is not quite right for you, I didn't say anything about him. He really wanted to know what was wrong with you." "It's okay, I think I am sure." "What are you going to do then?" Ask Olivia. "I'm not going to say, we should get Christopher behind us before I start distracting people," I say. Olivia smiles and watches television again. I receive a message. I look at my phone and see Alex's name.
