Chapter 25

I wake up and Olivia sits on my bed. "Was about time you had to wake up," Oliva says and grabs a pillow. "Can I please sleep some more?" I ask her. "No, we have to figure out where that vampire is in Maryville. We have no time for more sleep." Oliva has a straight face. "What's wrong?" I sit up in my bed. "I had some more clear visions yesterday." "About the vampire?" "No, about your two friends." "You mean Luke and Niall?" "Yes, they are planning something. At least one of them." "Maybe how to safe me?" Olivia laughs. "Maybe. Let's go and get some breakfast." "Where do you want to go?" "Where they have the best coffee." Olivia laughs again. "Coffee point it is then." I step out of bed and grab some clothes. Olivia goes to her room to get dressed. I put my hair in a messy bun. The biker short is ideal in this weather, with an oversized t-shirt of course. I meet Olivia downstairs. Her dress light pink with very shiny silver jewelry. Her silver high heel top it. "Why are you so dressed up?" I ask her. "This is my normal clothing." "I don't believe that. Look at me, I'm dressed like a slob." "You look nice Maddie." "No way I'm going with you if I look like this and you like that." "Why not?" "Because I look like a slob. Follow me." I walk back upstairs and grab some of my joggers and a crop top out of my closet. "Put this on right now." "Do I have to?" "Yes." Olivia sights and walks away with my clothes. 

I step in my car and Olivia steps in the passenger seat. I don't know how but she still looks like a goddess in my clothes. She insisted on wearing my new shoes so I'm wearing my old vans again. We arrive at the coffee point and it is busy in there. I see some free tables so I quickly park my car and sprint inside. I choose one of the empty tables by the window. My favorite spot is already taken by some freshmen. Olivia walks in and searches for me. She spots me and walks to our table. "What do you want?" "Can I have a Latte with some caramel please?" "I can ask if they have it. It is a small town you know." Olivia chuckles but grabs her phone. I walk to the counter and order our coffees. We get the coffee quite fast. I also ordered a muffin for both of us. "I like this place. It reminds me of my work in New York." I nod and take a sip of my standard black coffee. "Tell me Maddie have you had any visions lately, or are they still not coming." "I had one." "What was it about." "About my friend Jenny. It was a full moon but she wasn't alone. She was with my other friend Andrew." "But it wasn't a warning or something?" "Well, I did talk to her the next day. She told me she was the alpha of the pack and that they had to protect me or something." "But why was that other dude there then?" "Andrew. I don't know. He was also some kind of wolf. He had claws and the teeth of a wolf." "Maybe you need to talk to him about it. I kind of know what is going on but he needs to tell you it." "Why can't you tell me?" "Because I don't know a lot about it. It is better if he tells you." "How am I going to ask him? Hey, why are you half-wolf?" "No just say something like I have a few questions, you can trust me." "Well, tomorrow I will talk to Andrew." I take another sip of my coffee and grab my phone. I text Andrew.

'Hey, Andrew. Let's grab a coffee tomorrow. We haven't talked in a long time.'

'Yeah alright, text me a time and place.'

Andrew's response was quick. "So Maddie tell me, who is this gorgeous woman next to you?" I turn around and see Niall. Not him. Why does he always pop up in the places I am. "Hello my name is Olivia, but you knew that already. Luke isn't it." "No, no. I'm Niall, Luke his older twin." Niall says. "Well, actually you are his younger twin. You died earlier. Luke aged more than you did" I say. Niall glares at me. "I notice the great bond with each other, but what are you doing here Niall?" Olivia stays calm but I hear some irritation in her voice. "Well, this girl here texted her boyfriend yesterday that she knows the name of the killer vampire." "Well, now I know what you were planning." Olivia rolls with her eyes. Niall glares and grabs a chair and sits down at our table. "Tell me what you know about our good friend Christopher Ordeux." "I'm not telling you anything" Olivia takes a bite of her muffin. "Maddie?" Niall keeps trying. "Alright. I only know what she told me." "Yes, go on." "Don't push her. She is telling you. Be happy about that." Olivia says irritated. Naill glares at Olivia. "Well, you know his name. He is an old vampire and he wants to take revenge on our bloodline." "Almost. What you said wasn't true." "What do you mean?" "Well he is old and stuff but he doesn't want to take revenge on your bloodline particular. He learned about your grandmother when she was in Paris. He lived in a small town next to it so he came to Paris to see if the legends were true. When he came there he was immediately in love with your grandmother. He killed your grandfather and then introduced himself as a noble good man. She knew he was a vampire of course but she liked him. Your grandmother learned about his secrets and then tried to kill him. He was furious. Marion was his everything, he needed her to protect his town. She could see enemies coming. He is here for revenge but mostly just for you. He wants to take you and use you for your powers." "Well, at least it is clear why he wants me because my stupid grandmother broke up with her and tried to kill him." "Marion is much to handle and you can't keep a secret from her." "Well, what does this person look like?" Olivia asks Niall. "That is the problem. There are nowhere any pictures of him only stories."

My phone buzzes. A text from Luke.

'My sweet girlfriend, I think we earned a break from all of this. I'm taking you on a date. Be ready at six.'

I look at the time. Two o'clock. Time passed quickly when we were talking. I need to get home. Maybe I can borrow that dress that Olivia was wearing. "Liv, we need to go. Thanks for the information." I smile at Niall and grab Olivia's hand. We walk out of the coffee point to the car. "Why are we leaving?" Olivia asks. "I have a date in four hours and I have to get ready." Olivia smiles. "You have the best person for that." We both laugh and I drive home. We arrive and my dad is still in the same spot as when we left. "Liv can you do me a favor when I'm gone?" "Of course." "My dad is heartbroken but he needs to eat and sleep." "I will take care of that." Olivia walks to her room and grabs three dresses. "I have a pink one, blue and red. Which one?" "Blue?" "Just try them on. I laugh.

Luke his car is on my driveway. I am wearing the blue dress. It is one shoulder and knee-length. I'm wearing my own jewelry. Olivia wanted me to put on some more but I chose for some earrings and a bracelet. The ring Natalie gave me didn't match the dress so I took it off. I walk outside. Luke his eyes glow when he sees me. I smile and walk towards him. He hugs me and kisses me on the forehead. "You ready?" he asks me. I nod and step into his car. We drive for a bit but I don't know where we are going. It's the evening so I'm guessing something like dinner. Luke parks the car at some parking spot next to a big house. The house is enormous and super beautiful. Luke steps out of the car. He is dressed in a buttoned-up shirt and dress pants. It looks like we're are going to some sort of gala. The doors open and people are dancing and chatting with each other. "What is this?" I ask him. "This is the annual vampire ball." "I'm not wearing a good dress for a ball." "No, you're perfect." I blush and Luke takes my hand. "Do not worry about the people here, and don't worry about what is happening." "I will try." Luke takes me on the dance floor. I don't know how to do the dance but Luke leads me. I wish I was wearing a ballgown. My dress isn't flowy but it feels good to dance with him. He knows me, he knows I needed to take my mind off all that was happening. I love him so much. I lean in to kiss him. Luke stops dancing and kisses me.
