Chapter 27

I need to know who that man was. I couldn't sleep after I had that vision. The weird thing was that Olivia had the same vision. Today I'm going to talk to Andrew. I had a vision about I'm and I need to know why. I look at my phone and see that it is finally 6 am. Very early for the weekends but I can't sleep. I grab and outfit and take a shower. I look at my phone and see nothing. Guess nobody wants to talk to me right now. I miss the cabin. It's so peaceful out there. I wish I can go there again. I walk downstairs. My dad is already up and eating his cereal. "Hi dad." "Goodmorning," he says. My dad is still heartbroken. My mom hasn't come back after the argument we had. I think she is with that guy. "Maddie, I'm okay." Huh my dad can hear me? "How did you.." "You are thinking out loud. Your facial expressions say enough." "Sorry. I give him a kiss on the cheek. I grab some frozen fruit and put it in the blender. 

I finish my smoothie and decide to text Andrew.

'We still up for a talk or not?'

'I was just going to text you. Twelve a clock. The park'.

'See you there.:)'

Andrew's response was again very quick. He said he was about to text me so he didn't forget it. Honestly if it wasn't that important I would have had forgotten it. Yesterday was amazing. The ballgown lays on my chair. I hate that I should probably give it back to Luke. Maybe I can convince him that I can keep it. It reminds me of the beautiful beginning of our love story. Well it began six months ago but this seems like the real story. I know about him, about myself and about my friend. Alex should be happy that she doesn't know a thing. Alex. I probably should text Alex back. She still wants to have lunch with me and Natalie. I can ask Jenny, if she wants an old friend reunion. Maybe I can take Olivia with us. She is my cousin. She will probably fit in just fine. I search through all our old friend group chats and find the one with all four of us in it. 

'Hey everyone. I thought we would have a lunch soon. With all four of us. Let me know.'

I know they aren't going to respond immediately but I hope before tomorrow. We can skip class in the afternoon and have lunch together. I miss our group. Olivia said something about getting our group back together so I will do that. I will keep all of this a secret for Alex. She needs to live her life without any of this in it. Alex is my oldest friend and I love her so much. I can't see her get hurt by any vampires or any of this all. Alex is just so pure and if she know she will go crazy. Just like me in the beginning. I was an emotional wreck and now I grew already as a person. Sometimes I wish I could take it all back and just live like Alex but then I would have missed all of this and never be how I really am. I learned about myself and want to learn more. I kind of like how my life is turning out right now. Everything we thought wasn't true, is true. Well not everything but a lot. 

It is still one hour before I have to go to the park so I open my laptop and decide to search for the name Christopher Ordeux. The only thing coming up are some stories about the family. If he is a vampire how does that family still exist? I click on the site. The family lives next to Paris and owns a village. It all started with a prosperous man. He cared for the village and decide to invest in it. So they became the original family of the village. The name of the village now is Ordeux. Of course, but why is there still that family. The site sends me to another site with the family three of the Ordeux family. I follow it up until I'm at Christopher. This family tree goes up until the 14th century. That's a long time. I think he made it so his family legacy kept intact. I scroll further and finally come by the right Christopher. I only know that because he was turned in 1437. Not one drawing of him. Next to all his siblings are drawings of how they looked but not by his. The siblings have features I recognize from someone but I can't place it. Every time I got a lead I just can't remember it. I look at my phone and see it is already twelve o clock. I have to hurry. 

I park at the parking spots next to the park and walk to the park. Andrew is sitting on the grass next to the pond. The exact same spot I sat two weeks ago when I was mad at everyone. The moment that Ethan followed me here and gave me my bag back. I go and sit next to Andrew. "Hi," I say. "Hey," he responds. "You probably know why I asked to talk?" "Because of Jenny." "Yes, well actually also about you." "Me? Why me?" It seems my answer scared him. "Well, told Jenny you about me?" "Yes." "So you two are still together." "I never figured out how you didn't know that." he laughs. "Okay, great news but I know about you." "I can't have secrets anymore." "Nope. I saw you and Jenny together she was a wolf and you were to?" "Sort of. She scratch me when she was full wolf form. I went with her one night because she wanted to tell me what was happening to her. That didn't go following her plan. Her parents were furious. I got wolf symptoms and quickly turned into a half-wolf." "So you are also a werewolf?" "No, I only got the teeth and the claws. You probably know that a werewolf bite can kill a vampire." "Yes I know about that because I told Jenny." "Yeah about that." Andrew begins to laugh. "What?" I ask confused. "They acted if they didn't know it but the did." "Seriously." "Yes, they were searching for the killing machine in Maryville. So they searched for other new vampires first so the wolves could practice their bites. I tried that too but when I tried the Vampire didn't die. My bite isn't lethal to vampires. I only got the claws and teeth. I'm a wolf but not special. The only thing I have is that I'm stronger and faster. I became one of the pack, but I decided to stay in Maryville. I can control my transformation but when I'm with Alex I turn with her. It does hurt you know." "Wow, this is another level. I thought I knew everything but you guys keep surprising me. Jenny who is a Lamia and a alpha, you being a half-wolf." "Life is full of surprises." "You can say that." "I'm sorry, I would love to talk more but I have to go." "Okay, I have to go to." I grab my keys out of my pocket and walk back to my car. 

I walk inside and see my dad watching the news again. My mom really did a number on him. At weekends he always does extra work or goes gardening but now he only sits on the couch and watched the news. I go to the kitchen and make some dinner for the both of us. I give it to my dad and go and sit next to him. "Thank you Mads." "Don't call me that." "Why not?" "Only friends can call me that way." "Alright Maddie." He takes a bite of his food and I wait for him to say something. Instead of saying something my dad puts on a show we always watched together. "Dad, you don't have to pretend you are okay. I know you're heartbroken." "I'm fine." I shake my head. "Dad I know you." "I don't want to talk about it. Your mom only makes it worse for staying by that man." "I knew something was bothering you." "Your mom wants a divorce, she was actually cheating on me and she just left with that guy." "You know his name?" "Only his first name." "Who is it." "Chris." "There are a lot of guys named Chris you know." "Yeah, if I knew his last name I would go to him and beat his ass." "Wow, dad easy." We both laugh. "I'm going to sleep. Tomorrow is another school day." My dad nods. "I will do the dishes, goodnight Mads." I glare at him and walk upstairs to my room.

When did I fall asleep? I look around me and I see I'm at the exact same spot as yesterday. Only know Everything is brighter. I feel that someone is grabbing my hand. Olivia is standing next to me. How are we in the same vision. The mystery guy turns around and takes the first body from the ground and dumps it in his car. When he turns around for the next I see a glimpse of his face. Oh my gosh.

I wake up and Olivia sits on my bed holding my hand. "And? Do you know him?" I'm glad she is still here because what I just found out isn't good news. "Yes, I do."
