The subway ride is not that long but it is very crowded. When we come back up the sun is burning on my skin. Luke is wearing a black shirt as always. I had a striped blouse laying on top of the other clothing so I just grabbed that. It is still ten minutes to walk but I'm excited. We walk past many bars and by everyone luke asks if this is the one. And every time I say no. Finally, we get there. It is not that small as I had in my head but it's not that big. We walk inside and the smell of fresh-brewed coffee fills my nostrils. Now I want a macchiato. "Luke can we also grab a coffee?" "Of course, if we're here for a long time then we will also have some shots I think." I laugh and walk to the bar. "Hello, what can I get you?" an old lady asks us. "Can we have a latte macchiato and a regular coffee." Luke orders for us. "Olivia what are you doing with that man. I told you that your boyfriends had to stay out of this bar when you are supposed to be working now." the old lady says. I look around me and see nobody here beside us. "I think she is talking to you," Luke whispers. "Oh, I'm not Olivia. My name is Maddie. I'm looking for her." The old lady puts on her glasses and smiles. "Now I see it. Sorry for my comment but you just look so alike. Your eyes are different." I smile. Now I know that were in the right place to look. "Do you know when she is coming here?" I ask the old lady. She shakes her head. "Olivia usually comes around ten but sometimes she takes her own schedule." "Okay, then we will wait here for when she comes, and drink that delicious smelling coffee." I smile and walk to the table where Luke is sitting.

"And?" he asks. "I was right, she works here. She had me mistaken for her because I look like her. She said our eyes are different." "So that means brown hair and a beautiful smile." I blush by Luke his comment. "Do not distract me she can come in any minute." The time now is ten fifty. She is already fifty minutes late to work. I would never do that. The door opens and a tall brown-haired girl walks in. She grabs her hair and throws it into a messy bun. She runs to the bar and talks to the old lady. She turns around and back forward. The coffees on a tray and she walks towards us. "Your latte macchiato and a regular black coffee." Her voice is sweet. I see on her name tag that it is actually Olivia. I found her. Much sooner than I expected but I found her. "Are you Oliva?" I ask her. "Yeah, can't you read?" What a harsh reaction. "I'm sorry for asking, I knew you were Olivia but I need to talk to you about something." She looks at me and turns around. "Why is she so rude?" I whisper to Luke. "I don't know, she is your cousin." "I am going over there. She cannot do this. I just want to talk." "Just be careful." I nod and walk to the bar where Olivia is preparing another coffee. I think for herself.

"Hey, I don't know why you are not talking to me but." "What the hell are you doing here with a vampire Maddie?" she cuts me off before I even can say my sentence. "I, he is my boyfriend. How do you know my name?" I turn around and see Luke trying to focus. I think he is trying to listen. "You cannot bring any vampire in this bar." "How do you even know he was one?" "First of all, you know what you are and what I am, right." I nod. "As a predictor, we can sense that." "I'm completely new to everything. I didn't know that. I'm sorry for bringing him here." "Yeah, you are. But I wasn't finished. Because the old lady that is the owner of this store is a witch. You have to be careful with here." "I already said I'm sorry but I'm not going to send him away, he is a good person." "Yeah sure." she laughs. Why is she so mean? I still need to talk to her about everything. "I really am sorry. I came here to talk to you because I just figured out I'm a predictor and my grandmother told me to go and find you." "Wait, you are the daughter of William Moreau. Oh gosh." "What?" "She found me." "Who?" Olivia walks straight lines behind the bar. "Thanks to you she found me. I was hiding from her. She wants to strip me of my powers." "Who?" "Who do you think? Marion." Wait my grandmother wants to have Olivia's powers. What the hell. "Okay calm down. Just tell me your full story so I can understand it." "Alright, but be ready." I nod and turn around to look at Luke. "Don't worry he won't hear anything. Betty did a spell." "Okay." I don't know how to respond.

"Alright, I was born on august 28 1997. My mother is your father's sister. But my mom was a sort of scandal to the family. She wasn't a predictor just like the rest of the girls in the family. Marion had five kids. Two girls and three boys. That is why she was so disappointed because she only had one predictor kid. When my mom was finally eighteen she moved out. She became pregnant very early. Then there was me. My mother kept me from knowing her. Until Marion called my mother to congratulate her on me. She was shocked because she broke contact with her. Marion told her I was a predictor and that she needed to come home. She wouldn't want that so she asked Betty here to do some cloaking spells. It all worked out and I began to learn about my powers. Marion moved to Paris and everything went downhill from that. Marion called my mother to say she wanted to have me. I was twelve at the time. I knew I had to protect myself so I learned a trick that I can block my mind. So she couldn't get in. Since then she is looking for me. She knows we live in New York but that's it. New York is big so it was impossible for her to find us, but she found a loophole. You." She takes a sip of her coffee and looks at me. "Want to know more or what." "I just want to know why she wants you when you were twelve but she never wanted me." "That is because I'm not a full predictor. My powers have quick limits and are not complete." "But why does she want you?" "Because if a predictor dies in another predictor's arms the powers are going to the other predictor. It is weird but she practically wants to kill me." "And why not me then." "Because your powers are complete and you are the next savior of Maryville I think." Wow, I never thought of that. "Okay, can you learn me how to block my mind from her because she kinda creeps me out right now." "Yeah sure. Okay, focus on your mind and on her. Visualize a switch in your brain that allows you to block her. Then turn that switch." In my mind a small switch is visible. I switch it. A vision of my grandmother in her younger years pops up. Her screaming in some sort of pain and she collapsed on the floor. I scream and open my eyes. Luke runs towards me and grabs me. "What the hell do you think you are doing?" His voice is angry. "Don't worry, I asked for this. I'm okay." Luke glares at Olivia. "Sorry to bother but I am only going to talk again if this creature is sitting over there again," Olivia says. "Excuse me, how did you call me?" Luke steps forward. Olivia puts her hand in front of her and Luke collapses to the ground. "What did you do? Luke, will you go back to the table?" Luke stands up and walks back to the table.

"I'm sorry. But it was nice meeting you. I will protect you against my grandmother." "Maddie I can protect myself and besides she is an old lady right now." We both laugh. "Still a scary old lady. I think you can teach me a lot." "I can and I will." I give her a hug and say goodbye. "We will stay in contact," Olivia says before Luke and I leave the bar. The time was going very fast. It is now almost four o clock. "So Maddie, now I'm going to show you the best places in New York. Tomorrow we will go back." Luke says. "Nobody can leave New York without seeing the statue of liberty," I say laughing and we walk back down to the subway.
