"Christopher." I hear myself say. "Maddison Moreau, what have I been waiting to get you, your grandmother was smart to kill her own daughter so that I couldn't have her." Christopher says and he laughs. "That's not true, my grandmother is just obsessed with power." "Yes, that is also a bit true." "Christopher, you can give up because I'm never going to surrender." "But Maddison, I have an army. There is nothing you can do about it. " Some random people step forward. "Look this is Pete, I've known him 300 years now so he's older and stronger than all of you." Christopher says. "You may think you have a majority, but we thought smart. Little things you will never see coming." I say. I turn to Natalie. She gives me a nod as approval. I look around a bit more and the rest is staring at Christopher and his army. I don't see anyone I really know personally so I'm relieved. "Maddison, what do you want to achieve with your clever thoughts?" Christopher says "I am not going to say that because then it is not smart anymore. And my name is Maddie. " I say. Christopher slowly raises his hand and raises two fingers. He bends them forward and Pete steps forward. "Pete, I've known you for a long time and will never put you in danger, do you trust me?" Ask Christopher. Pete nods. "Then make her a nice meal out of her." He points to Alex. Pete nods. Alex smiles a little. Pete walks over to Alex and sticks his teeth on her neck. Why doesn't Alex do anything? All of a sudden, Pete starts coughing up blood, probably what he just got out of Alex's veins. Alex turns and sticks her fist in his stomach, then takes out a stake. Alex puts it into Pete's heart with considerable force. Pete falls to the floor and his eyes close. "Well, what a shame. But it is not true, you are still a vampire? " Ask Christopher. "You are right and you are not. I'm not the monster you made me anymore, thanks to Maddie. But thanks to you I am stronger than ever. " Alex says. Her look doesn't change, strong and angry. "So you still have to thank me. Come over to my side or you'll be the first to go. " Alex smiles, but her face quickly turns to the same look she kept having. Christopher rolls his eyes and whispers in the ear of someone standing next to him. The person picks up a phone and types. How annoying this is. Not knowing he is doing for the next move. "Maddison, oh sorry Maddie." Tell me why don't you want to come with me? " "My life is here, with my father and my friends." I say. "That father you locked up in his own house." So he knows. "Yes." I say and I look at the ground. "Don't I know you?" Asks Christopher while he watches George. George nods and stares at Christopher. "Let me guess, taking revenge on me is what has kept you busy for years?" "Not really. You killed my love, when that happened I was cut off from the outside world for about three hundred years. My good friends here took me out of that period and when I heard that you were in a fight with them I was only too happy to help. " George says, raising his chin. "Oops, this is a tough one. Martha? " George shakes his head. "Uh, Marie?" George is still shaking his head. Christopher mentions a long list of names and George keeps shaking his head. Christopher is wasting time. "Christina?" I hear the name and look at George. He is now very still and his head turns red because of the anger in him. "Well, that was it then. Christina. I still remember her. She didn't want to be with me. I loved her so much but when you married her I visited her and killed her. You're really not a good boyfriend, are you? Knowing there was a man who wanted to take revenge on your wife and do nothing. " Christopher laughs. "I also left behind clues. The letters and souvenirs from my city. " Christopher says. Suddenly his look becomes very serious. "She didn't tell you, did she? That meant she might still love me. What have I done?" "You killed her while you .. you .." George cannot get his words right. I step up to George and take his hand to reassure him it's okay. I squeeze a little bit and I see his breathing slow down. I can feel Luke's eyes burning on my back. He's jealous. I'm just here for a friend of mine. I hear some leaves cracking on the ground and I see a shadow between the trees. Not more people from Christopher's army. "Chris, why did I have to meet you in the woods?" Ask a voice I know all too well.
