I grab my bag from the passenger seat and step out of my car. When I walk to the front door I see Luke standing there. "Your mom wasn't home otherwise I would have waited inside for you," he says. I walk past him to open the door. He grabs my arm. "No kiss," he asks? "Nope, you did the same when you walked away at school," I say irritated. I open the door and walk inside. Luke follows me and I see in his eyes that he is trying to read my mood. I drop my bag at the ground. The history book falls out of it and Luke grabs it. "What is this," he asks? "Just some stupid book for a school project," I say and walk to the sofa to sit on it. Luke lays the book on the table. "Is that the school project you do together with Ethan?" "Yup, and don't you dare to say something about it. I think he is cool and he needs some friends here at school." "don't like him hanging around you,". Luke is very protective of me. I pad on the sofa to tell Luke that he can sit next to me. "Luke I know that he is weird but I think he is oke he is my connection to Jenny," I say. Jenny, she was supposed to come here tonight. Why does Ethan have my number but I don't have his? "Maddie you know how protective I am over you and suddenly you hang around some other boy." "I know how it sounds but its not like that. I actually think Alex likes him and I would never to that to Alex and certainly not to you," I say and come closer to him to kiss him. He leans in and presses his lips against mine. He takes full control and I love it.

We got interrupted by the front door opening. My mom walks in and drops her bag to cover her eyes with her hands. Luke gets off of me and sits straight up. I turn around and smile at my mom. "I'm sorry mom, happy your home," I say while blushing. My mom grabs her bag from the floor and walks to the kitchen. "Maddie I don't want to be rude but it's your day to cook," my mom says. I stand up and walk to the kitchen. Luke joins me and is behind me. I look in the cabinets of there are some taco shells left. "Not taco's again honey, just do another dish," my mom says. I look up to see if we got any ingredients to make chicken enchiladas. Luckily we have them and I grab the stuff I need. "Can I help you," Luke asks? I give him the tomatoes and onions. "Mom can luke stay over for dinner," I ask my mom. She nods and I begin to make the chicken.

The food is served and we all sit at the table. Luke next to me. He puts his hand on my thigh and squeezes it. I smile at him. "The food was very delicious," my father says. "I agree," Luke says and again he squeezes in my thigh. I begin to stack the plates. My father grabs my hand and pushes it away. "What are you," "You should be with your guest," my father interrupts me. I grabbed Luke's hand and walk upstairs. "We can watch a movie," I suggest to Luke. "Yeah okay, cool," he says. I put on my tv and put on a movie. I lay on the bed. Luke lays next to me. The movie is kind of boring but I think Luke likes it. My phone goes off and I see its Ethan. Jenny. "WHAT THE HELL. why is he calling you?!" Luke yells. "Maybe it is about the project you don't know that Luke. Don't start jumping to conclusions." "Well I forgot your dumb history project about mythology, I am very sorry about it." Luke is talking very sarcastic. "Luke, I don't want to argue with you, I think you have to go," I say. Luke stands up and walks away. I sent Ethan a message asking him what he wants to say. No response. I walk downstairs to look if Luke is really gone. Yes, he is.

I see my history book laying on the table. Exactly where luke left it. I grab it and walk back upstairs. When I enter my room the movie is still playing. I turn off my tv and sit in the chair next to my window. I open the book and see that some of the stuff about witches is marked with a green marker. I turn page after page of the book and see that someone marked the whole book. I grab my sticky notes and stick them between the different categories. Witches, werewolves, and vampires. I write the most important things down in one of my notebooks and look outside. Ethan and Jenny are standing outside of my window. I walk downstairs and put on a coat because it's a lot colder in the evening. I walk towards Jenny and hug her. Jenny gives me a hard hug back an I already start crying. "I took Ethan with me, but he will stay at your house we are going to talk!" Jenny says. I nod and walk with her away from my house leaving Ethan there.

"Jenny, I read something just now. It is something about witches, werewolves, and vampires. Has it something to do with what you are not telling me. Did you make me get that history project about the mythology of this town? Did you marked al the important parts in the book?" I can't stop asking Jenny questions. "Wow wow, easy Maddie, one question at the time. But yes I left al those trails for you so you can figure it out." "But that means that you are something, and maybe Alex or even Natalie." "Maddie, I swear not everyone is something. I know that I am a werewolf and Ethan is that too. We are the same pack, where I have to go back to." "I never thought that all of this was true. All those bedtime stories." "Well, I can tell you bedtime stories are a little different than real life," "I believe that," I say and laugh a little. "But Maddie I have to warn you. Not everyone is you, friend. I have been here for two days and all I felt was dark. Like vampires. I don't know who they are but when I'm around you I feel safe and protected. I don't know what it is but your something special." "Me. what do I have to do with al of this." "I don't know but you have to find out about the vampires in this town and about yourself." Jenny looks concerned about me.

"Ethan will always have your back unless you side with the vampires." "How do I know when I side with the vampires?" "You will know. But Maddie I have to go back to my pack." "No do not leave, please I need you." "You can call me. Ethan has my number ask him." Jenny hugs me and we walk back to my house. Ethan is still standing there. Jenny steps on his side and hugs me for the last time. I feel tears burning in my eyes but I will not give in to cry. They turn around and step into Ethan's car. I walk inside and go upstairs. When I walk inside my room I see my dad looking at my history book. "Dad what are you doing in my room?" "Oh I was just seeing what you are doing for school, mythology interesting." my dad looks at the floor and then leaves the room. Why is everyone being skeptical right now? I need more answers. What am I? Who is the darkness in this town? What exactly are werewolves and vampires? And the most important when am I going to get answers? I look at my notebook and see the important stuff about werewolves. They turn every full moon but they are normal during the rest of the days, they are very strong and fast. I look in the book and see one thing not marked but it seems important to me. -A werewolf bite can kill a vampire-
