Chapter 35

To: Faye
From: Elena Gilbert
Go to your house. Your mom is back.

That is what Faye wakes up to, naked and beside Damon. She walks to his bathroom and looks in the mirror, her shoulder is stained with hardened blood because Damon drank enough last night to literally knock Faye out, accidentally. The vampire felt terrible for drinking more than he had intended.

Faye starts the shower and calls her mom while the water heats up.

"Baby, I'm at home," Laney says into the phone.

"Elena texted me," Faye murmurs tiredly. "I'm going to shower and I'll be there to see you."

"You better," Laney muses. "Tell Damon I said hello."

"I will, mom," Faye mutters. "Is John there?"

"He's at Elena's, seeing her," Laney replies. "He wants to see you."

"I'll stop by there after seeing you," Faye says. "Water's hot now, mom. Love you."

"I love you, hun," Laney says and they both hang up.

Faye steps under the hot water and watches as her own blood washes down the drain. Damon walks in and he leans against the sink, he's glad Faye leaves the shower door open for him.

"I'm sorry I drank so much," Damon claims.

"You were upset; I forgive you," Faye replies over the water. "My mom says hi."

Damon smiles and he strips off his boxers and steps under the water too. He lifts Faye up and she wraps her legs around his waist out of instinct. Damon presses his lips against hers heatedly. Both Damon and Faye agreed their relationship is sexual. He can be wirh who he wants, and so can she. But when they start to care for the other person, the sex stops.

Faye runs into her house and tackles Laney in a hug. Laney grunts at the impact but wraps her arms around her daughter, tightly. Both girls are crying as they reunite, both have missed the other just as much as the other one.

The door opens and John enters. "Hey!"

"Joh," Faye coos and hugs him. "How'd it go at Elena's?"

"Well, Jenna knows I'm Elena's biological father now," John replies. "It's good to see you, Faye."

"Good to see you guys in person," Faye says. "So, what are we doing today?"

John and Laney walk through the square while Faye goes to the Grill to wait for them. They're having a memorial for the death of a woman Damon killed Faye came over.

"It's good to have you back, John," Carol Lockwood says to the man as he approached her. "We could really use you."

"And the council?" John inquires as Laney looks around, minding her own business. "What are they doing?"

"Damon Salvatore is leading the council now," Mrs. Lockwood informs him. "Talk to him. Excuse me."

"There's your nephew," Laney points out Jeremy. "I'm gonna go meet Abigail at the Grill."

John gives her a chaste kiss. "I'll be right there, Laney."

Laney nods and she smiles at Jeremy as she passes him, he smiles back.

Faye and Laney are sitting at a table near Jenna and Ric. The couple are glad to see Laney back in town but Jenna knows Laney is married to John, and it's why she's back n

"John!" Faye chants as the man enters the Grill.

"Faye," John scolds. "Alaric, Jenna. Join is?"
