Chapter 12

Faye and Lori go to the Grill after school, and they find Matt applying for a job. Lori pines over her ex-boyfriend Ben McKittrick. Ben dated Lori when he was a senior in high school and she was a freshmen. He's a bartender at the Grill how. Faye does think he's hot but she really cares for Tyler. She cares too much for Tyler than to disrespect him and gawk at another guy. So she leaves that for Lori.

Bonnie is sitting at a table with Elena, they're eating together. Their table is a couple tables away from Faye and Lori's. Like Laney, Bonnie is glad Faye is making her own friends instead of sticking around hers. Bonnie wouldn't have minded Faye befriending Elena and Caroline, but she's glad Faye made her own.

"My mom says James regrets being abusive," Faye claims. "I don't believe him. He could have chosen not to abuse us."

"You're right, he could have chosen differently but he didn't," Lori says with a frown. "I believe you in the doubt of James changing. My mom would also agree."

"Yeah, probably," Faye replies. "Your mom and my dad graduated together."

Lori nods in agreement before they both dig into their food.

Faye gets ready for the '50s decade dance. Tyler is supposed to be picking her up at any time. They usually go to these things and parties at his house together. That's how people know they're still together. Once they go without the other or separately, they'll know they're split.

Tyler shows right as Faye is done getting ready, and Laney lets him in. She is heading over to work shortly, not long after Tyler and Faye leave for the decade dance at the high school. Tyler talks to Laney while Faye brushes her naturally straight hair and she leaves her room.

Laney hugs both teens before everyone leaves the apartment.

Tyler watches from a distance while Faye dances around with Morgan and Lori. Morgan is trying to get into the team's good graces. She did smoke weed a lot with Vicki but she's done with that. She wants to prove it, and Lori is giving her a shot. And so are the other members of the team.

"Whoa, there's Elena and Stefan, and who's that?"

Faye follows Morgan's eyes and spots Elena entering the gym with Stefan and... Damon?

"That's Damon Salvatore," Faye tells Morgan. "He's Stefan's big brother and a friend of mine."

Morgan smirks. "He's hot."

"He's single," Faye winks and she sees Damon smirking at her. "Go talk to him."

"What?!" Morgan gasps.

Lori smiles. "Go and work your magic while he's single. Hotties like Damon don't stay single long."

Morgan smiles and she jogs over to where Damon is. Lori and Faye high five each other before they go to get some punch. Lori walks away as Tyler wraps his arms around Faye from behind and he holds her close while she drinks the punch.

Tyler, Faye, and Lori leave the dance early and go to the Grill. Tyler goes straight to the pool tables while Lori gets a table for her and Faye. Laney smiles at her daughter and her friend when they get their drinks and place their orders.

Lori frowns when she sees Ben flirting with Bonnie. She can't say much because they did break up and it was a mutual feeling for the breakup. They just stopped liking each other. Lori misses Ben sometimes, but she knows they're both better off with other people. Their relationship was toxic to them and the ones around them.

Lori goes back to Faye's with her after they eat, they know Laney will be working for a while longer. Lori boosts up the Xbox after getting the go ahead from Faye. Faye does to her room and she changes into some brown satin sleeping shorts and a black spaghetti strap before she grabs some store bought cookies from the kitchen.

Faye then joins Lori in the living room and finds Morgan in there, too. Faye grins and she opens the cookies, she lays the package on the table and sets the game up for three players before the backseat all wrestling Xbox game begins.
