FORKS WASHINGTON, 2005

The beautiful auburn-haired vampire squealed out a laugh as Carlisle- who had previously whipped around the car at impossible speed, pulled her door easily open for her and scooped her up easily into his arms, hip bumping the car door shut behind him as she laughed, clutching on to him tightly despite knowing that he would never drop her- the vampire man chuckled, feeling not even a single strain as he carried her effortlessly into the night sky and back toward the Cullen house that glowed in the darkness of the night. Clutched tightly in her hand were here ridiculously high heels and her hair had been released, flowing against his shoulder as he manoeuvred her.

"Now what, Superman?" she giggled when he reached the front door and Carlisle grinned cheekily at her- an expression that instantly startled Hero purely by how rare it was from him. His next move had her squealing again as he flipped her easily over his shoulder. The blond doctor boomed out a magnificent laugh as he carried her over the threshold, her hair swaying against his back as he held her easily with one hand around her thighs.

"Well well well, what do we have here?" a voice boomed out a chuckle and Hero didn't need to be facing the person to know that it was Emmett, Carlisle's body shocked slightly as he chuckled but he still didn't put her down, even as she tapped patterns in his back. "Good night, I take it?"

"Nothing to see here" Hero giggled out, Carlisle's chuckle flowing through and dancing with her own laughter- they were bright, jovial even as he carried her through the main room, the room of which had an absence of light at that time of night. Although the vampires didn't sleep... They were all busy having some private time- Carlisle never asked what that intelled.

"Well, I am off to bed, I happen to have a wife waiting" Emmett grinned, making the two in front of him cringe slightly, knowing what that meant but truly wishing they hadn't. "You two kids have fun" he flashed away after saying the thing he had mentioned earlier and Carlisle whizzed easily in his wake, hearing Hero's laughter where he still held her, the sound of it warming his heart as he finally arrived back at his bedroom.

The blond doctor very gently allowed his partner to drop from his shoulder onto the bed and she sighed, spreading eagle on the bed, her hair in complete disarray and dress hitched slightly upwards around her, feet bare... She was as beautiful then as she had been at the beginning of the day. The doctor huffed and flopped backwards beside her, allowing her to wrap her arms around his neck gently from behind as the two of them faced upwards- she pulled him half on top of her but neither of them minded as her hands rested against his lapels.

"You are gorgeous, Hero Kelly" he mused, looking back and up at her, she smiled softly, fingers reaching over and musing his perfectly styled hair, making him chuckle as his curls were dislodged from their precise locations. They felt so comfortable as they lay there, still fully dressed though content.

"You are the most handsome man I have ever met Carlisle" she returned sincerely and he smiled as he took her hand gently in his, pressing a kiss to the back of it as he looked deeply in her eyes for a long moment. Sighing, the doctor pulled himself to stand once more, eyes scanning over the room for a singular second- he had tidied it, purposely because he knew that she didn't like mess, to him it hadn't been messy but he would do anything to make her happy and from the way she smiled, he knew that she must have noticed.

"I need a shower" he hummed, running a hand over his hair that was coated in gel and she giggled as she saw the distaste on his face.

"Me too." Hero grumbled as she dragged herself to stand, stretching unnecessarily and feeling so short compared to him now that she had removed her heels. "... Can I stay with you tonight?" she asked uncertainly and he smiled, excitement lighting in his eyes.

"Of course," he informed, pressing a kiss deeply to her forehead. That first kiss they'd shared had been followed by three more after and their night had instantly improved- not even Kathy the receptionist could dampen their positivity on that night and from that moment, Hero had been utterly accepting of any and all affection Carlisle had offered- she trusted him with all her heart now and so, they'd reached a crucial milestone in their relationship. One day, she would tell him what happened in the asylum but he didn't pressure her and that was what she needed the most, an unconditional love.

Hero showered quickly in her own bedroom that night, dressing in one of the many pairs of pyjamas Rosalie had brought for her when they designed her bedroom. Returning to Carlisle's side felt incredible that day, even though they had only been separated for a second. When she reentered his room, he wrapped his arms tightly around her waist, dressed comfortably now as they tumbled back onto the bed together with their laughter flowing. Neither of them had ever been so happy.

Carlisle and Hero unnecessarily lay in bed together that night, talking about all manner of things- their favourite memory, their favourite movie, what pet they had always dreamed of having- they discussed all the trivial things and somehow managed ot find a great amount of fun in it... With the right person, hours felt like seconds and boring conversations became magical.
