⚠️⚠️ THIS BOOK HAS VIOLENCE ⚠️⚠️

My pen suspended above the piece of paper while I looked at the June sun- or at least, the small ray of it that trickled between the blinds. It's a perfect day to go outside, but instead, I am sitting in a dark classroom, half-listening to my teacher.

Sorry I haven't introduced myself. I am Skylar Lennox. I live here in the southern states of America in a small place named Goldhill, Texas. A small town that's forgotten, all we have are some houses, shops, and a local pub.

I live on a farm with my parents. My dad is always working and doesn't spend much time at home. My mom works in a local pub, and if she isn't working, she's with some friends, leaving Goldhill to go on a little trip to the bigger cities. I have never seen a big city, so I don't know how it looks like in real life. I only saw it in the photo when I looked it up. My main point in this whole story... I am lonely.

Let me tell you a little bit about myself. I am a very adventurous type. I love to explore things, I want to keep doing things, and I don't want to sit in a classroom all day. I love to prank people, to mess around. Probably because I am so lonely, and kids at my school see me as a freak, a loner. It's presumably the truth, but I don't see myself as a misfit.

I forgot to mention that I have a crazed black cat, called Enderman, named after the creature in the game Minecraft.

Enderman is far from an ordinary cat. I found him underneath an old and half-destroyed shed. He was one at the time, but that was four years ago. Since then, Enderman lives here with me. Even my mom doesn't want him to walk around the house. He's just like me, messing around, always getting into trouble, and when it's night, and my mom left him outside, he screams all night, keeping everyone awake. So you can understand my mom isn't a big fan of Enderman.

I called him Enderman because he's good at disappearing and has this habit when you stare too long in his eyes, he gets mad. He's my cat.

No one can pet him. Sometimes he sits on my shoulders, he is not a very large cat. Right now, I was at my school, sitting in the back and half-listening to the teacher. I am not that interested after all.

My parents wanted me to get good grades and go to college, but I wasn't sure if I want that. What am I supposed to do with my life? It's only for their status because they're poor. It's not their fault they're poor. Sometimes when I look at other girls who aren't poor and cry about how they didn't get their Blue Audi R8 but a grey Porche 911, it bothers me. I don't even have a bike. It's fine... I learned to live with it all. My quote is 'accept what you can't change.'

What's the point of fighting it?

I looked up as Mr. Harrison called my name. "You're up!" he said, gesturing me to come in front of the classroom for a presentation I haven't prepared. I got up, walking up to the front of the class. I almost reached it when someone stuck out their leg, collapsing over it. With a groan I ended up on the floor and hissed in anger, turning towards Rho, a guy that would do everything to make me feel miserable. And it wasn't the first I had a heated argument with him. "What's your damn problem?!" I snarled, getting up and pushing him off his chair.

"Skylar!" I looked at Mr. Harrison "He started!" I snapped, glaring at Rho again. "That's not a reason to push him of the chair!" He growled. "You're right, maybe I should beat him!" I hissed and lunged for him, beating the hell out of him. Kids jumped off their chairs. I have pulled away from him "Principle! now!" he shouted, pointing at the door. I grabbed my backpack with anger and marched out of the classroom towards the principals' office.

"Skylar,"

He sighed when he saw me and gestured me to sit down. "This is the third time this week," he said, crossing his arms when he looked at me. "It wasn't my damn fault! He made me fall in the middle of the class! He laughed at me!" I snarled, jumping off my chair. "Sit. Down!" He ordered, glaring at me. With a huff I sat back down. "guess I've got to call your parents," he said, grabbing the phone, located on his desk. It seriously surprised me that the old thing was still working.
