25. attempted murder

"Skylar! Hey, are you there!"

Sideswipe snapped his fingers in front of me, pulling me out of my trance. "What? Yes... I am here," I said. "Something on your mind? You act strange," he said. "No... I am fine," I said, smiling. "You haven't heard what I said... did you?" he asked. I smiled and shook my head "No... I haven't heard what you said..." I said, rubbing my forehead. Sideswipe sighed "Where are you with your mind?" he asked. I waved my hand "what was it you said?" I asked. Sideswipe shook his head "I asked you... if you knew where my brother is!"

"Your brother?  No... I don't know where he is... maybe he's out for a drive," I muttered. Sideswipe followed me with his eyes. "Okay well... Optimus is going to decide what will happen to our father today..." Sideswipe said. "Do you think he will send him away from the earth?" I asked. "There's a chance he will, but he never sent Sunny away either... even after he killed humans," Sideswipe said. "Sunstreaker isn't a bad mech... he had a good spark, your father doesn't" I growled. "He's abusive..." Sideswipe muttered. "He's far worse than that," I growled, gritting my teeth.

"Are you okay?" Sideswipe asked. "Yeah... I'm fine," I mumbled, looking away. "Alright, well are you coming then?" he asked. I gave a small nod and followed Sideswipe, exiting my room. As we walked through the halls, I saw Sunstreaker's holoform talking to Jazz's holoform. "Do you have a minute?" I asked. Sideswipe frowned and nodded slightly. I sprinted over to Sunstreaker when Jazz walked off. "Hey..." He glanced at me "Did you think about what I told you last day?" he asked. I gave a small "I am not going to look differently at you... your secret is safe with me... but Sunstreaker... you have to tell the truth! You have too... otherwise, this will hunt you everywhere... What if the Decepticons find out? They will use it against you, Sunstreaker," I whispered. "I know... but no one will know about, it just you, me and my stupid father..." he muttered.

"You promised to keep a secret!" he snapped. "I know... and I will, it's not up to me to tell them the truth, but you have to decide for yourself if you want to keep this a secret for the rest of your life! What do you think will happen if Optimus finds out himself?" I asked. "They can not give me the death penalty... I am connected with my brother, he will die too..." he said quietly. "Tell them yourself... What if your father will tell Optimus about the truth? What if Dreadbolt tells it in a hanger full of humans and Autobots?" I asked. Sunstreaker shook his head "he won't..."

"What makes you think that, Sunstreaker? How can you be so sure?" I asked. "I have to live with this, Skylar... it's my choice!" he snapped before pushing me away. "Not a word! Otherwise, you are my next victim... regardless my brother is your best friend!" he hissed quietly before he turned on his heels and walked off.

"What was that about?"

I turned and shook my head "Nothing, Sideswipe... it's nothing," I said, gesturing to him to follow me. "I thought friends don't have secrets..." Sideswipe mumbled. I gazed at him "I don't have secrets, Sideswipe," I grunted hoarsely. "yes you do... you and my brother have secrets for me," he snapped back. I halted and turned towards him "I don't have secrets... alright?"

Sideswipe nodded slightly while we made our way over to the main hanger.

"Wait here!" Sideswipe told me, his holoform fizzled out, leaving some silver sparkles behind. Not too long after, the silver Chevrolet Corvette Stingray transformed into the 80 ft tall Autobot. Sideswipe skated over to me, holding up his servo for me to climb in. "What's going to happen now?" I asked. "Prime is still talking to Prowl about it... I guess we have to wait," Sideswipe said. "Where's Sunstreaker?"

"I have no idea..." I mumbled. I knew exactly where Sunstreaker is, hiding. It was ten times better if he just told everyone the truth about what happened, but I also understood it's hard. "Sideswipe... Can you put me down? I think I know where Sunstreaker is," I said. He moved his arm to the hallway again so I could jump over the railing. "Okay... I'll be back soon..." I promised before I ran off.
