The long September twilight faded into the night. Washington DC lay enveloped in darkness but for the dim light of the moon that shone through the fleecy clouds. Casting a pale light as of approaching dawn over the streets. I sat on the roof of the base, staring into nothing, lost in a chain of thoughts and feelings. Everything that has happened between me and Sunstreaker but also what happened between me and Sideswipe confused me and worried me even. Of course I cared about both mechs, they meant a lot to me and I trusted them, but this bond that started to form... I just wasn't sure about it and feared this was going to end up in disaster.
I slowly got up, the autumn turned out to be colder then I thought. I stumbled back towards my room, making sure to be quiet since Sideswipe insisted to stay over for the night. He told me he didn't want me to be upset and after the kiss, he didn't want to leave my side anymore. I laid down and curled up before falling asleep.
I woke up because my mouth is as dry as the desert. I needed water, gallons of water and I also have a splitting headache. Sideswipe was still asleep. He was laying there next to me, his face turned towards me. He looked happy and relaxed and It seemed to me as if he had been smiling. I laid my hand on his cheek, feeling the soft fair skin of his holoform before I slid out of bed, grabbing my shoes and bathrobe. It's still night, so probably not many people would see me in this.
I walked into the dark cafeteria, getting a class and filled it with water before sitting on the counter, listening to the sounds around me. Sunstreaker had been ignoring me, for some reason it saddened me. I wanted to talk to him, making up what happened between us, but I guess I really hurt his feelings this times and I know, I was wrong and it's all my fault. I slid of the counter, getting an aspirin for my horrible headache.
I have a few options of what I can do right now. One go back to bed and try to sleep, or two, see how Sunstreaker is doing. I needed to see him, make sure he's okay and didn't leave again. I hated when he suddenly disappears and I feel guilty for that, it feels like he is leaving because of me. With that being thought, I left the cafeteria, heading for the Autobot hanger.
The yellow mech was parked in his usual spot, the corner, far away from his fellows. I leaned against a pillar watching him, bitting my lip. Last thing you want, if you're wandering through the base at night is waking up the Autobots if it's not an emergency. I have heard stories of rookies that thought they were funny, it didn't end up well for them. Especially Ironhide, Sunstreaker, Mirage and Ratchet got very angry. I wouldn't like it either to be waken up by rookies.
I slowly made my way down, very slowly and quietly I sneaked between the sleeping Autobots, trying not to wake them up.
I knew Sunstreaker would react on me if he would sense me so, I presumed he was in recharge. I sat down on the floor next the yellow Lamborghini but slowly leaned my arms on his hood, laying my head down. It was a brief second I closed my eyes, but I fell asleep shortly after.
I woke up from something and I didn't really know what it was. I blinked the sleep from my eyes, slowly opening my eyes and stared at Sunstreaker's holoform hovering over me. "What are you doing here!" he hissed. I groaned, brushing some of my dark blonde hair from my eyes. "Sunstreaker... it's six in the morning," I muttered, stiff and cold from sleeping on the cold floor in the large hanger. He noticed and knelt down, sighing. "I miss you..." I said, looking into his icy blue eyes. "Really?" he asked, sucking in a breath. I nodded slightly "Please get off the floor... It will not warm you up," he sighed, getting up. He offered me his hand and hoist me up.
"Get in."
I hopped in and sighed in relief, ten times better then the cold concrete floor. Sunstreaker's holoform hopped in as well, turning on his heater and stared at me as I tried to warm up. "How long have you been laying here?" he asked. "Since last night... I woke up with a headache, I couldn't sleep," I said. "I can see that... you look pale, as in... you haven't slept at all," he said. I hummed and leaned against his soft black leather seat.
"I couldn't sleep... I kept thinking about you. I don't want you to be mad at me anymore," I said. "I probably should have talked to you before..." he said. "There's something I need to tell you..." I said. "I am all yours..." he said. "You felt hurt because I rejected you... you think I don't trust you, but I do trust you. I really do... I want to make it up with you," I said. "My anger already faded... maybe I overreacted a little bit," he said. I flashed him a smile "What was it you wanted to tell me?" he asked.
"You can't tell anyone about this! You need to promise me because... not even all the Autobots know, only your brother, Ratchet, Optimus and Ironhide... I promised them to keep it a secret," I said. Sunstreaker nodded "I promise..." I sucked in a breath "I know why my mother didn't like me and my father hated me... my father isn't my real father. Not my biological father... remember you came to me because my mom was here?" I asked. He nodded "She confirmed it... and she told me my father is Cybertronian... I am a hyrbrid. The Decepticons don't know... I trust you with my secret. I don't want to keep this secret from you any longer, after all... you told me yours as well," I said.
Sunstreaker seemed to be shocked and even looked away. His face turned pale, all the color faded from his face. "Sunny?" I asked carefully. He glanced briefly at me "Do you hate me now?" I asked. "I understand if you do... I mean, I kept it a secret. I am sorry, but Optimus told me to keep it a secret. Do you know I am immortal?" I asked with a giggle. Sunstreaker raised his hand to shut me up.
"This is serious, Skylar!" he snapped. "I know... but it's fine. I mean, the Decepticons don't know and I have you and Sideswipe to protect me," I said. "Why did you tell me?" he snapped. "I thought you wanted to know... you deserved to know the truth and Sideswipe—" he cut me off. "Maybe I didn't want to know!" he spat out. I flinched and was about to leave, but he locked the doors. "I know I should have told you sooner—" he cut me off again. "It's not about that, Skylar... believe me... it isn't!" he snapped. I felt some tears sting in my eyes "Then why are you mad at me again?"
He obviously heard I was about to break into tears and snapped his head towards me. "I thought you would be happy to hear I am half Cybertronian... in your eyes humans are far below you. It's not like I change into a Cybertronian. I just have better senses and I am immortal... I don't grow older or die easily... my DNA is completely modified," I said. Sunstreaker brought his hand to my face, brushing a tear away. "Sweetspark... I am sorry, I didn't mean to upset you," he said and leaned in till his lips connected with mine. The kiss was gentle and short "Don't leave again," I whispered. Sunny pressed his head against my forehead, smiling a little with closed eyes.
I ran my hand through his silky blonde hair before softly kissing him again. "And I haven't even asked you for a date..." he mumbled as we broke the kiss. "I love you..." I heard him whisper. "I love you too... do you think you are able to share me?" I asked, smiling a little. "I share a spark with my brother... I think we are able to share you and besides that, we don't have a choice," he said. I hugged him "I love you, Sunny..."
